That's... not good.Pulling rope off of a buckle on her belt, Ira wrapped the silk rope around her waist twice before dashing forward. As she bound through the snow, she handed her comrades a length of the same, connected rope. In her rushed breath, she pointed to the rope, calling out to the others. "We should've done this earlier! Tie it around yourself and keep running. Any idea where we should duck for cover? The blinding white snow certainly didn't help her see. She had taken her glasses off earlier, primarily because it was hard to see in the mountains with the glaring scenery. Squinting hard, she tries her best to find a safe zone with her blurry vision.

Canere takes hold of the rope Ira handed in, wrapping it quickly around his waist and passing the remaining length to Caden. His eyes continue to scan for a place to take cover, as he begins the breathing exercise that will allow the Battle Fury overtake him. Spot check: 1d20+3=23Invisible Castle took pity on me in my time of need! Also, is readying an action to Rage as the avalanche hit ok?

Trying his best to tie himself to the rope whilst simultaneously sprinting, keeping balance and cursing, Caden manage a hasty knot.

The rumbling grows louder as it peals down the mountain behind them. A quick glance over her shoulder shows Ira a wall of white, slipping and sliding as the mountain disappears underneath, yet still far enough behind they might have a full minute before it engulfs the slope upon which they stand.
Ahead of them, there is a wound in the mountain, a cliff of black rock that juts from the mountain. It was to their left as they climbed, but it may well offer sanctuary from the onrushing snow.

At this rate, we'll never outrun that thing...Ira's eyes drifted to the black rock cliff, hesitation creeping up her spine. She once had a life-threatening experience with heights, and her left hand clenched as a reminder to herself. Regardless, the immediate danger was more alarming, so she cast away those fears and attempted to start her descent, fear lingering in her voice. "Are we descending, Canere?!"Climb (1d20+3=15)... *opens eyes*. Well, 55% chance to fail and I managed to make it. Ira descends the cliff for 10' (40/4). I noticed that none of us are good climbers. We apparently forgot our climbing kits too. Would a grappling hook do us any good at this point in time? Additionally, Ira "attempts" a spot check to find an outcropping of some sort along the wall of rock: Spot (1d20-6=-2)... but it seems she can't spot her own shoes. And why do you both have to weigh so much?

Canere pauses at the edge of the cliff, he first begins chanting an ancient Hanian song of steadiness, in order to aid his allies in their climb. He then lets the battle rage overtake him, he finally invokes arcane energies of talent within himself. He reaches into his pouch and pulls out a pair of dice, which he crushes between his hands. He then begins his descent. 2 rounds, 12 seconds spent in preparation. Round one: Begins Inspiring Competence "Climb, Climb, climb the sheer rock face"-Allies get +2 competence to climb checks. Round two: Rages, round 1/7 Casts Improvisation, current pool 8/8, and climbs, spending two Improv Points to give himself a +2 luck bonus. 1d20+5=17 Improv round 1/4, Improv pool 6/8

Seeing his companions decending, Caden follows. Grapsing what nooks and cranes, what cracks and ledges he can find, he advances downwards. However, the stone betrays him as he puts weight on a surface he didn't notice was covered in ice.

Ira and Canere slip over the edge of the cliff, climbing down from the edge to a relatively safe spot down below the lip of the cliff. Where they are, the snow should pass over their head and down into the canyon below, leaving them safe to return to their path on the mountain above. Unfortunately, their friend and travelling companion is less skilled with his climbing, and as he plants his foot, it slips and skids on the poor traction, beginning to fall down the mountain.

Canere braces his hands, calling on his arcane luck to imbue his muscles with extra strength. He hopes that the rope holding Caden is strong, and that his own muscles are as well. Strength check 1d20+5=132 Imprv Points spent, Rage round 2/7, Improv round 2/4, Improv pool=4

Letting the rope do its job, Ira braces against the wall. The tug is brutal and the warrior does all she can to hold on. Her foot slips for a moment and a wave of doubt flows down her spine. Could she pull this off? Or would all three of them careen down the mountain slope? I'm assuming this is similar to a "catch", which is under the climbing rules. Judging from that, I'm going to roll for both the climb and the strength check... strength if climb isn't covering a situation where we don't have to catch a falling member and maintain a climb with one hand. Thank god for that rope. Instantaneous ferocity. Climb (1d20+7=22), Strength is -2 of that (no circumstance from the friendly Skald). Max load is now 460 from ferocity. 50.5 lbs of that is my equipment... the rest should be able to support Caden (200 lbs.) and his load ( ). I hope. EDIT: I just realized the order in which we tied the rope. If Canere slips from the catch, Ira will likewise be unable to support the weight. Canere weighs 176 + 54.5 and Caden weighs 200 + load. If we only count their body weight and my load, Ira can barely handle it... but there's the loads to worry about. My god, drop your shields if you can... if we need to.

Oh hell. The ugly man starts tumbling down the mountain, cursing, spinning and trying to get hold of something, anything to stop his fall. 460 lb... 176+54.5+200+36+X (where X is the weight of my everlasting rations, Cloak of Restistance +1, Dragon Spirit Cincture, least fire assault crystal, Assortment of different gems worth 30 gp each, 13 of them. 390 gp,13 gp,5 sp and 10 cp)... 466,5+X. I'm going to have to drop my backpack with my rope as well as my shield. That's 13 lb away. Free action to release shield and move action to get the backpack of me. If, of course, Canere also starts falling. Hrrm...I just noticed that everlasting rations costs 350, not 750. Bummer. Well, let's just say I spent 400gp on... something . Well, that's careless char-creation for ya

What the hell weighs 176 pounds on top of the 200 you normally weigh? From an avalanche to a fall... well, looks like the forces of good could have been TPK'ed by an act of nature. Unless if someone has feather fall, of course. And is able to cast it twice.

Caden falls away from the cliff, his hurtling mass jerking his two compatriots from their holds on the mountain, sending all three plummeting down the rock wall. Tied together by the rope, they pendulum down the mountain, one catching on the rocks, then another, bruises, cuts and other injuries accumulating with each impact. Gear flies loose, tumbling below the heroes down into the deep snow beneath, disappearing with dull thunks and thuds, followed shortly thereafter by the three, each impacting deep into the snow, digging themselves two fathoms deep with the force of impact.
Roaring and growling as it sprays forth from the cliff, the avalanche tumbles and sprays from the lip of the cliff, some falling upon the downed heroes, most of it missing and landing beyond them, wedging them in against the base of the cliff.Won't be a TPK. However, it does look like some of you are going to be rather badly hurt. 4d6 damage a piece. Dig yourselves out of the snow or start suffocating in two rounds. It'll take two rounds of DC 15 strength checks to dig out. Or you can melt the snow. After that, you'll need search checks to recover lost gear.

Thank the gods for this thrice damned snow. Canere thinks in incoherent Celestial. Gotta dig my way out, now...[ He lets some more of his arcane luck guide his muscles as he attempts to push the snow above him under him, trying to move in an awkward mockery of swimming. Strength Check: 1d20+5=20Rage round 3/7, Improv round 3/4, Improv pool: 2 I seem to be making some headway. Good...Canere continues moving the snow off of himself, trying to reach the surface. Strength Check: 1d20+5=24Rage round 4/7, Improv ends, both from duration of 0 and points remaining of zero...
