unsure it its meets the requirement of beeing dirty enough but:

you can get yourself a +10 increase to your save dc with a couple of feats and an item:
  • dragon touched(needed for draconic aura) Dragon Magic
  • snowcasting Frostburn+[cold] descriptor to spells
  • draconic aura (cold) Dragon Magic scaling max +4 dc to [cold] spells
  • spellfocus (cold) Frostburn +1dc to all [cold] spells
  • greaterspell focus (cold) Frostburn +2dc to all [cold] spells
  • spellfocus(whatever necromancy or something) PHB +1dc to spells
  • greater spellfocus(whatever necromancy or something)PHB+2dc to spells
and
Icemail armor +2dc to all [cold] spells; also no arcane spell faliure for [cold] spells
found here: http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/fw/20030323a

Quote
Icemail Armor: A suit of icemail armor appears to be a suit of transparent breastplate armor carved out of ice. Although it feels cold to the touch, icemail armor keeps the wearer warm and protected from cold, granting cold resistance 30. Icemail armor is much lighter than steel, and although it provides protection equal to that afforded by a suit of +3 breastplate armor, it is considered to be light armor. It has a maximum Dexterity bonus to Armor Class of +5, an armor check penalty of -1, and an arcane spell failure chance of 15%. The arcane spell failure chance for casting spells with the cold descriptor drops to 0%, and the save DCs to resist these spells increases by +2.

Druids can wear icemail armor without violating their druidic vows, as long as they hail from an arctic climate.

Caster Level: 9th; Prerequisites: Craft Magic Arms and Armor, Spell Focus (evocation), chill metal, protection from elements; Market Price: 52,000 gp; Weight: 15 lb.

now all you cold spells have +8 to the save dc you focus school has +10
and all your cold spell habe 0% asf in the armor above
(due to snowcasting all your spells are cold spells!)
your basic save dc is now 20+spelllevel+int
finish with something like fatespinner

throw out save or die/suck stuff

This is the point when you want to use Glass strike on undead. Good luck with that already crappy fortitude save.

a quite similar thing can be accomplished with psionics...
only its far easier!  Rolls Eyes so:

boosting save dc for the psion:

manifest:
flayer larva Complete Psionic
agument it so that you get 9 of them

then
manifest:
metaconzert Expanden Psionics handbook join with them
é voilà:
+10 dc to your powers and saves

continue with save or die / domination etc...

larva flayers Complete Psionic ARE psionic creatures which totally qualifies them for metaconcert.
though you might want to quicken metaconzert since it has a manifesting time of 1minute.

with schism you should be able to do all of that in 1-2 rounds

Completely forgot to post it here Smile

Hadn't heard about the psi-version though, nice one Smile

yeah gonna try to pull of the psionic version soon

and its even better than the snowcasting thing since,
you can still apply greater psionic endowment and items and agumentation to it for killer saves

And you're not burning seven feats on it.

That's not necessarily a plus.  A DM might be inclined to accept a +10 to DC that you have to invest feats to get, and NOT accept a +10 to DC that you get basically for free.

Hindsight was fixed in SpC IIRC, but we could still just use the rest of the trick.
I should probably update my sig some day...

Or I can use Hindsight to burn a note in the past teaching my self the trick before the SpC came out!  Big Grin

It is me or is everything better with snowcasting attached to it?

Tiers explained in 8 sentences. With examples!
Tiers break down into who has spellcasting more than anything else due to spells being better than anything else in the game.

5: Mundane warrior. Barbarian, Fighter, Monk.
4: Partial casters. Adapt, Hexblade, Paladin, Ranger, Spelltheif.
3: Focused casters. Bard, Beguiler, Dread Necromancer, Martial Adapts, Warmage.
2: Full casters. Favored Soul, Psion, Sorcerer, Wu Jen.
1: Elitists. Artificer, Cleric, Druid, Wizard.
0: Gods. StP Erudite, Illthid Savant, Pun-Pun, Rocks fall & you die.

Not every build can spare that many feats.

I thought hindsight was that wiz9/bard6 spell that let you see the past, not interact with it?

It's not a dirty trick, but why is it that cloudy conjuration gets so much applause, when Insightful divination is IMHO, even more awesome?  Cast a high level div at the start of the day, and all the spell level to your initiative checks FOR THE WHOLE DAY.  That's awesome.

As noted on another thread:  Zhentarim Skimage + silver Pyromancer + amulet of retributive healing + Heal mount.
Who says wizard's can't heal?

Oooh, I realized that there is a psionic equivalent to tensers/nighstalker's transformantion.  Share it with your familiar and then dismiss it on your self.  Dual casting, yo!

Anyone know of a way to get phrenic on your familiar?  Or make Detect Hostile Intent permanent?

I was planning on having my bard use Imbue familiar with spell ability to get Harmonic Chorus (+2CL+2dc) on himself.  Does this work?

Well, totally free in conjunction with other dirty tricks.  It's not like there aren't ways to drastically shave down that prep time, and ways to get virtually-unlimited power points.

I don't see any reason why it shouldn't.  I got it past my DM, and he's normally VERY skeptical of any of my "Jedi mind tricks."

It is, indeed--but it necessitates being a specialist diviner (not a bad option) or taking SF: Divination (not a good option.)  Conjuration in general is just so strong that Cloudy Conjuration is gravy.

I assume someone already abused the ability of some prestige classes to turn your spells into SLA's to make use of the Quicken SLA feat, but i thought i'd mention that again just in case.

One Dirty Trick that was opened recently is the abject craziness of the Spontaneous Versatility Trick:

Step 1: Get a caster able to cast spells spontaneously. Note the Magical Training feat (Player's Guide to Faerun) as a source of inspiration.
Step 2: Take the Versatile Spellcaster feat (Races of the Dragon, Page 101).
Step 3: Take the Heighten Spell feat (Player's Handbook, Page 95).
Step 4: Take a look at the Wizards Website.
Step 5: Realise that, with absolute legality, if you can find a Prestige Class that limits entry level by designating a particular level of spells, you have just broken it.

Consider: Why take levels of Sorceror, when you can dip one level of cleric, then take Mystic Theurge and increase both casting classes? This is just one small example.

Step 6: Cackle.

Enjoy.

Love it!

Now if only there were a second PrC that progressed both Arcane and Divine Spellcasting, we'd be golden.

Arcane Hierophant's going to work better; FL has pretty stringent entrance requirements which will make it very difficult to stick to pure spellcasting classes.

You'd be looking at Druid instead of Cleric, but I haven't heard anyone complaining lately about how underpowered Druid is. Wink
