Well, do you guys think it would? Giving it spell progression to a Favored Soul and keeping all its other class abilities.

I'm thinking that it might help, but I'm not sure how much it would help.

For a Spont Casting druid, there's always the Spirit Shaman spellcasting style.

Do you mean from a balancing perspective (to tone down the class)?  Strictly speaking, a favored soul's progression (assuming spells known too) would only serve to weaken the class.  Suddenly, you:
  • Lose access to the bulk of your spell list
  • Have your highest level spells delayed a level
  • Have to spend a full-round action to apply a metamagic feat (no more Quicken Spell)

This would make it a weaker caster, but if you want to "fix" the class, Wildshape is a dangerous ability.  Also, the favored soul's progression only slows the druid down.  It doesn't fix any broken spells.

I don't think so, no. Not only because Wildshaping is the more dangerous ability, as has been pointed out, but because even if you limit the number of spells a Druid knows, there are still enough of them for the brokenness to go around.

I believe bandman's objective is indeed to dumb down the Druid.

• Limiting spells readied to Favored Soul's list size while retaining the capability to swap out a limited number of spells each day might be a good compromise.
• Wildshape is indeed a bad way to go, but I'm working on that... somehow.. with an alternative. Similar concepts are in a "Nymph Sustainer" class, Invocation based, over on the Feybook project. http://z11.invisionfree.com/Feybook/index.php?showtopic=141
I don't know how well stacking the multiple semi-shapes will go since I just made it; might need major nerfing.

Also, in case anyone was curious, the bullet • is ALT+7 (on keypad)

Yeah, I was thinking of weakening the class. Hadn't thought of the whole "full round metamagic" thing, but that's because I always play druids as melee anyway. I never play my casters properly.

I also think that full round metamagic is also wrong, but that's just me.
