Callix/X-Codes/Nanshork, any ideas on how we should introduce the new PC?

With what little I've done of the backstory, Madoc would be all for reforming the empire. I was thinking a Marleath exile who decided to find some power while still alive, but that's subject to change if it would be inconvenient. I'd rather not make Ve Angau my evil patron, though, which would likely get you killed or exiled in Marleath.
Speaking of which, are you using standard devils here, or are there setting-specific fiends I should be drawing power from?

Well if you're up at four in the morning, come talk to me. This is what happens when crazy people buy a Ring of Sustenance.

Ve Angau isn't a god, just a near-god undead nasty. Nice guy, my hero . I haven't really written religion for this setting, but assume non-standard, even if the individual monsters are fairly close.

I'm using a few feats from Elder Evils; near-god nasties are the kinds of things that give you Chosen of Evil. Still, it seems to make more sense for a warlock to bear the brand of a deviol than the mark of a lich lord, and it explains why I'm outside and scheming witht hese guys.

Should be fine. I'll start prodding the religion aspect a bit more. You might as well drop into the game thread, I think Nanshork is ready for you.

No problem. It seems we're in that awkward position in PbP games where everyone is waiting for someone else to post.

It does happen. A warning that I'll be MIA from the 25th-5th, as I'll also be away on vacation. We can either pause here for the vacation, or attempt to continue going on. I'll kick things off again if we want to.

I know I'm not from the Cult, but this might be necessary:
Strat, could you post that warning up as vacation warning? Thanks!

Yeah, if you ever feel railroaded, yell at me. I sometimes realize a bit late when there aren't enough options.

I, too, love the options presented. One that appeals to me has a certain... drama, but may be impractical.

What would that be?
Kill the slavers first. Then, when the crowd gathers around to hail us as heroes, kill the townsfolk. More melodramatic than just killing civilians, but we've got no idea how powerful these slavers are. It's a bit of a risk, but if it works, then virtually no-one would escape.

One way or another, there's going to be a lot of corpses piling up in my wagon. =p
