Heh. Well, apparently there IS a way to do it (and it's with the CW Samurai with the Dead Levels II article), but it requires 13 levels of the damn thing IIRC. It's a base class, but I'm not ready to take a class that's even worse than the Fighter.

Is there a way to make Half-Nymph level adjusted a la Savage Progressions? I'm really only concerned with the LA +1 part about it, or rather that racial ability. Hell, I'll settle for a Cha +2 and that single racial for an LA +1.

I'm looking at 9 levels of Zhentarim Soldier, a level of Barbarian, and the following fear goodness: Intimidating Rage (can this work with the alternative rage found in CS web enhancement called Ferocity?), Imperious Command, the Kiai Shout (and Greater, if necessary), Dreadful Wrath (here's a regional feat, so I might not be able to take it) and Frightful Presence (if needed - this works only with less HD unfortunately). For PrCs, Warshaper 2 for some nice bonuses, Kensai 3 (or 4) for a Metalline weapon (and the Str boost), and Exotic Weapon Master (just for the x2 Str bonus bit with a 1h exotic weapon wielded in 2 hands).

Unfortunately, I'll be in dire need of skill points. Nymph's Kiss, if I get Half-Nymph, would be funky in flavor.

Eh crap. Now that I've looked at this build I've run into a problem: Barbarian requires nonlawful and Kensai requires lawful. Craaaaaaaaaaaap.

How were you qualifying for Warshaper, by the way? Maybe I'm not familiar enough with all your options, but I can't find any shapechanging abilities there...

Changeling. Half-Nymph's a template. (Hooray for Shapechanger type.)

Rufei, there is a way to do it, but Strato is likely to throw his DMG at me for suggesting this:

Warforged + Incarnate Construct (that -2 LA one) + Half-Nymph = LA 0

Incarnate Contruct makes you humanoid, which makes you a legal target for half-Nymph.

Doesn't work AJ. Half-Nymph is inherited, Incarnate is acquired.

Feh, not to mention the restriction of only 1 template. I did consider Incarnate Construct... but likewise I'd see DMGs flying (yes, why I'd love to reduce my LA by 2 and not get any real appreciable decrease in my character aside from type).

I do know that Half-Fey can be both inherited and acquired (according to Savage Species).

Absolutely love Imperious Command though. Time to mass cower! Big Grin

I have to ask, Strat, are you open to more games, or is 3 your limit?

I think Strato started assuming more people would join up later on. If you're not up to joining in with one of the three existing games, I wouldn't be surprised if Strat was open to running another segment. What did you have in mind, by the by?

I wasn't sure. I jsut thought that the other games were under way, and didn't want to intrude. If there is still room, I'll ttake a look and see if one of the other games suits.

Well, there are currently two evil games and one good. The good seems to be, generally, a crusade against evil. One evil revolves around starting a massive undead Cult of the Dead, and the other is essentially starting as a barbarian band of Bandits; we hope to some day raise up our own bandit group, amass land and wealth and such. We're evil more out of greed and bloodlust rather than derangement, though Ejo's character is pretty much all about the derangement. Big Grin

I could see my way to joining the Cult, and there are only two players there.

Any ideas on avoiding overlap? It looks like they won't need a smart guy or a frontliner, but skirmisher or glass cannon look open.

They're both using a couple of Strat's custom classes, based on his Rituals. So pretty much anything is open. Big Grin

This looks like the perfect place for a Hellfire Warlock/Binder...

Now if only I could remember where Hellfire Warlock is.

Thanks. That's very helpful.

I guess I'll rely on Chosen of Evil for the first few levels...

Sounds good. Just swat Nanshork and X-Codes about joining up with them and such.

One thing: How would you cover the interaction between Leraje's Ricochet ability and Eldritch Blast? EB is definitely a ranged attack, but they both say they're used as a standard action. If it works, it and Precise Shot are more useful than Chosen of Evil at low levels, so I'd probably build around them.

Yeah, looking at a face/blaster Warlock/Binder. Naberius's social boosts and Beguiling Influence meets Chosen of Evil & Insane Defiance with fast ability healing. A recruiter that doesn't hide when the fighting starts.

I'd better get to work on a story and actual sheets
