Yeah, the last one kept kicking my ass. It was rather sad.
The umbrellas, iirc, gave anywhere from 5-12 level skips...

A gygaxian dungeon is like the world's most messed up game show.
Behind door number one: INSTANT DEATH! Behind door number 2: A magic crown! Behind door number 3: 4d6 giant bees, and THREE HUNDRED POUNDS OF HONEY! They don't/haven't, was the point. 3.5 is as dead as people not liking nice tits.
Sometimes, their tits (3.5) get enhancements (houserules), but that doesn't mean people don't like nice tits.
Though sometimes, the surgeon (DM) botches them pretty bad...
Best metaphor I have seen in a long time. I give you much fu. Three Errata for the Mage-kings under the sky, Seven for the Barbarian-lords in their halls of stone, Nine for Mortal Monks doomed to die, One for the Wizard on his dark throne In the Land of Charop where the Shadows lie.

I've been having a lot of fun playing the old NES Final Fantasy again. I'd read just how buggy the old US version was. Plenty of spells either did nothing or had the opposite effect than what it was supposed to. I found a few very handy stickies on a FF1 forum. One of them had hex fixes to the old ROM, so I've been spending entirely too much time with a hex editor adding in various patches. There are still quite a few fixes I need to add, and due to the layout of the thread, it's hard to find them all. Still, who would have thought such a rediculously simple game could be so much fun? Oh yeah. The spells that buff weapons strength failed to do anything, there was a spell that prevented Mute that may have worked but it's untestable since nothing casts mute in any version of the game that I'm aware of, none of the special weapons deal extra damage to anything like they're supposed to, etc.

I mentioned it somewhere else, but I'm too lazy too look... (And I found a picture!) I have only ever made one cake in my life. It was modeled after the companion cube, and should be seen at the bottom somewhere. It turned out perfectly, even though we had to make something like three layers and stack them together. It was delicious and moist, and we ate it while playing D&D. It ended up "attacking" on of my friends by falling down onto them (getting loads of icing on his shirt). I now plan on making a second cake. The actual construction of the cake should be easier, however decoration might be quite difficult. It will be based on the following:

I used to charge people to do a strip dance. I made a lot of money too, 5$ to get in, and $50 to get out early.

It helps if you put them in a small room with only one door, and stand between them and it. "No, no. You've still got two songs. It will cost you $50 for me to quit now!"

My balancing 3.5 compendiumElemental mage test gameQuotesIt is a shame stupidity isn't painful. Totally true. Historians believe that most past civilizations would have endured for centuries longer if they had successfully determined Batman's alignment. Why are so many posts on the board the equivalent of " Dear Dr. Crotch, I keep punching myself in the crotch, and my groin hurts... what should I do? How can I make my groin stop hurting?" I suggest carving "Don't be a dick" into him with a knife. A dull, rusty knife. A dull, rusty, bent, flaming knife. Fluffy: It's over Steve! I've got the high ground! Steve: You underestimate my power! Fluffy: Don't try it, Steve! Steve: *charges* Fluffy: *three critical strikes* Steve: **** I don't even stat out commoners. Commoner = corpse that just isn't a zombie. Yet. When I think "Old Testament Boots of Peace" I think of a paladin curb-stomping an orc and screaming "Your death brings peace to this land!" Buy a small country. Or Pelor. Both are good investments.
