Got an email from one of the universities I applied to. Apparently the councellor is making efforts to get me in without an interview at all.

I won $50 at poker on Friday.  This was nice both because of the money, but mostly because I hadn't been able to play in over two and a half months.

I have POWER again!!!

There was a major icestorm in the midwest, not unlike what happened up in the BG's neck of the woods.  Will post pics later.

6 days with no electricity sucked, but we have POWER now!!

I really got to see the pictures of a storm that takes away electricity for a week. We have some major shit around here, but we still get power.

I'm at work atm, gonna have to upload my own pictures from around the house later.  There were 70k+ people in my county without power, but strangely, just to the north of us, only 8,000 people lost power.  They brought in over 1k workers from out of state to help get everything back to normal, but there's still alot of people in the rural areas without electricity.

Judging from the picture, the wind was the worst problem, not the snow. Of course I was not there, but that's my guess. How correct am I?

I heard about that storm.  Glad to hear you got power back.

During that poker game last weekend, one of the guys said he knew somebody down there.  He said he could here trees falling left and right.  I don't know if it was from the wind or the weight of the ice.

Damn.

My group tried out Monty Python Fluxx last night.

they were all fans enough to quote films and songs from memory.

I may have seen a few films about 20 years ago.

I so totally schooled them  Big Grin  Bounce Bounce

Urgh, just got back from Stockholm. Four nights, two all-nighters, one decent sleep and one two hour nap. Booze, hot chicks, some of my cousins I never meet, shopping, booze and such. A bit tired though, I can hardly see what I write and I after I got home around seven hours back, I slept six hours. Still dying.

He played a really old-style blues set.  Notable songs:

Hoochie Coochie Man (opening song)
I Shot the Sheriff
Tell the Truth
Little Queen of Spades
Before You Accuse Me
You Look Wonderful Tonight
I've Got My Mojo Working
Layla
Cocaine
Crossroads (encore)

I don't remember hearing Little Wing, and I wish he had done more stuff from his Cream days, but aside from that, it was awesome!
