Sitting at the tavern's tap area, Bhaur attempts to find out more about what the locals know, sighing in resignation over how little help the authorities were.

The guard explains that he has not seen any outsiders entering the Mournland.  There was a local group that formed up - it consisted of some ambitious youths from town, who were not interested in a lifetime of farming and living hand to mouth.  A hobgoblin from the south, a strong one with several scars, was the leader.  He filled their heads with thoughts of plunder - claimed he had been in Cyre before the Mourning and saw some of the wealth that he figured was still there.  The youths agreed to buy in.  The hobgoblin provided them with supplies, weapons, armor - he even sent them south for a few months for some training in fighting and survival.  Finally, the group was ready and departed for the Mournland.

They returned after a few days, claiming that the ground itself had risen up to fight them, hunting them night and day.  And shortly after they returned, a thirty foot swath of wall was destroyed by something that went right under it.  Many residents died, though the monster, a bulette, was killed.  The townspeople blamed the event on the youths who had entered the Mournland and the outsider who urged them to do so.  They've been nervous about outsiders since, and with some reason as there are not many reasons to come to this village.

Bhaur does not gain much information at the tavern.  Most of the locals shun him - the whole room is very quiet, with a whole roomful of residents keeping to themselves and sometimes staring at the newcomer.

Worgs can be housed at the stables in town for double the price of a war pony, or the regular price for a war pony if meat is supplied for the mount.

Kaban opts to stable his worg, and follows the rest of the party wherever they decide to go.

Bhaur grunts at the surliness of his fellow goblinoids.  "Maybe we can find some of these survivors, ask them more about what they saw."

OCC:
I assume we 've stabled our mounts and are at the Stuck Hog?
I'm not sure between Scala Zeals npc guard still explaining things and that the locals were staring at the newcommer (in singularis) here and Blade2718's comment to us. My post assumes we are there, but which is it?
My question there gives you a chance to tell us Scala, because I would have asked it at the gate when the guard told us it the first time. So just tell it and someone else can answer my question.

"A sound plan. Whatever information these people possess, I am sure something of value can be learned"

We are going into the Mournlands after all, even if this event has no relation with our assignment, I for one would not turn down a possibility to help preparing us for the troubles ahead.

"After all, it could prove beneficial, would we ever end up in such a situation ourselves"

The goblin stands up from the chair he's been sitting on and starts to walk back and forth on the spot.

"I hope you don't mind, but no matter how many times I have to travel by horseback I never really get used to the saddle. I would have spent more time with it were it not for the fact that my studies would be too difficult."

As he paces, he surveys the crowd in the room, casually taking in the scene.

Yes, that's it. Just another weak book-worm, happy to learn something new. Not a seasoned adventurer, getting precise information about the Mournland. Nothing to worry about, the soft one won't bring any trouble.

He stops, frowns and turns to his companions.

"Does anyone remeber if the guard said were they were located?"

The guard did not mention where the adventurer's were located.

Sorry for the delay - I have to get back to checking more often.
