Hrm. I gotcha. No worriez, den.
But still . . . mmmm . . . breath weapon . . . .
Ever thought about being a Thri-kreen, JWO? A +30 racial bonus to Jump checks at level 2 and a 40 ft. land speed (for another +4), plus a +4 for being Quick (yay traits!) would be pretty slick. You could do Barb at 3rd level, then go Dragon Shaman.
I reckon it'd do the jawb!
A'course, I may be playing a DFA, which might make your entangle effect less important . . . and if you were to do a Battlejumping, pouncing, harpoon-wielding Bloodstorm Blade Thri-kreen, we'd have a kind of sick synergy going . . .

You guys should run that DS/DFA/Warlock trio idea that spawned on the COboards.

Not familiar with it . . . hrm.
If a Warlock, I'd recommend going with a DotU feat build - At Home in the Deep + Blend Into Darkness = first level sniper extraordinaire.

Surreal, won't you come play with us?
We'd love to have you!
Also, only problem with the darkness/HiPS trick is when true seeing comes into play and ruins your fun. That's why I prefer Shape Soulmeld - Fellmist Robe, which is much more reliable (though still dispellable . . . can't have EVERYTHING, I guess!).

Since we're starting at L1, I'm not really willing to play a Thri-keen. It just won't help the party enough early enough.
That idea was a good one, w/ the DS / DFA / Warlock... basically three different PCs, all setup to synergize off each other for maximum effect. Extreme endurance party in effect.
I'm pretty well set on the L1 portion, though: Barbarian Dragonborn Aquatic Dwarf. I'll eventually have Fly, Swim, and Climb speeds, for ultra mobility, Pouncing, crazy auras.

Dude . . . Thri-Kreen has 1 HD, +1 BaB, multiple arms, +2 Str/Wis, +1 natural armor . . . grab Multiweapon Fighting and EWP-Harpoon and you'll help TONS.
But hey - do yo' thang!

Uhm... 2 racial HD and +2 LA? Meaning, no real levels until L5? No thanks...

Check the progression in Complete Psionic.
You'll see what I mean.

Yeah, thats not a bad option, though if I do that I'm gearing towards pure-melee vs. a DS w/ some melee.

S'ok. I might do it. We're disturbingly low on casters ATM, however.

There was also the non-psionic Thri-Keen from... Shining South I believe. 2HD but only +1 LA. That idea was a good one, w/ the DS / DFA / Warlock... basically three different PCs, all setup to synergize off each other for maximum effect. Extreme endurance party in effect. Surreal, won't you come play with us? I'd love to play, but my time commitments are just as busy now as last time. I barely have enough time to keep up in Fil's game, much less start up a new one.

Yup, it's in Shining South. Not much else TK related in there though.
