I think we should keep track of any modifications that have been playtested and their results.  I'll keep try to keep up on this index so PM me if you have any suggested changes.  In particular we can use this as:
  • A tracker for playtest groups in progress or completed -- if you set up your own playtest group please make your own discussion thread for that playtest group and I'll link it from here.
  • A place to suggest modifications to playtest groups in general -- specific suggestions should be on a thread dedicated to that campaign.
  • A place to link to playtest results -- likewise, I want this to be an index, not a compendium.

Mister Sinister brought up a good point -- we need playtest groups of all levels of optimization from both sides of the coin, DMs as well as players.

I'm going to be starting up a new campaign soon (for varying definitions of soon) IRL and I think if my players are up to it I'll try to playtest some of the [Rebalancing 3.5] ideas that show the most polish.  In particular, my players will not be CO types so it's also a good testbed for "is this rule understandable" and the likes.

So I'll add a thread for my campaign to the index soon (again, for varying definitions of soon).

For some people, four walls are three too many.

We need at least one group of playtesters dedicated to smashing the rules, too. We need things to be pushed as hard as they can be, so we can close any totally blatant abuses. I would rather give DMs LESS work to do, not more of it, after all.

Check them both out!
