Rachel Getting Married is flipping brilliant. Just...watch it. And no, it's not a romantic comedy. It's about a girl with an addiction to an undisclosed drug (or many, percoset was mentioned once, but the drug type isn't important) and her interaction with her family during her sister's wedding which is happening right after she gets out of rehab. I can't believe I didn't hear more about this film. Oh, it's by Jonathan Demme, who did Silence of the Lambs. So expect that level of psychological focus.

Okay that was number one (the better of the two). Actually it was number two where it was originally filmed, but for some reason the sequel got the initial release here, and the first film was made the sequel.
It's not entirely chinese, each of the films comes form a different country. I liked Dumplings though...

Was is scary? I've heard it is.
I saw Body of Lies this weekend. It was a pretty good movie, except the end seemed a bit too Deus Ex Mechanay to me.

My balancing 3.5 compendiumElemental mage test gameQuotesIt is a shame stupidity isn't painful. Totally true. Historians believe that most past civilizations would have endured for centuries longer if they had successfully determined Batman's alignment. Why are so many posts on the board the equivalent of " Dear Dr. Crotch, I keep punching myself in the crotch, and my groin hurts... what should I do? How can I make my groin stop hurting?" I suggest carving "Don't be a dick" into him with a knife. A dull, rusty knife. A dull, rusty, bent, flaming knife. Fluffy: It's over Steve! I've got the high ground! Steve: You underestimate my power! Fluffy: Don't try it, Steve! Steve: *charges* Fluffy: *three critical strikes* Steve: **** I don't even stat out commoners. Commoner = corpse that just isn't a zombie. Yet. When I think "Old Testament Boots of Peace" I think of a paladin curb-stomping an orc and screaming "Your death brings peace to this land!" Buy a small country. Or Pelor. Both are good investments.

Did anyone get a chance to see Boondock Saints 2? I was really looking forward to seeing it but it isn't playing anywhere around here. I might need to find out if it is in New Orleans (closest city that would probably have it) and have a road trip.

Clerics and Druids are like the 4 and 2 in 42. Together they are the answer to the ultimate question in D&D. Retire the character before the DM smacks you with the Table as the book will feel totally inadequate now.-Hazren

Depends on your definition of scary. There aren't too many "jump scares," but the tension and the subtle things are extremely creepy at worse

just saw Observe and Report. Was nice to see Rogen in a different role, beating the unholy living dogshit out of people.
It's also reminded me that despite not normally being the type of woman I find attractive, given the opportunity, I would ride Anna Faris like a monkey on cocaine.
That was really good. Not all that funny, but I think it was billed as a "comedY' because there was literally nowhere else it would fit.

Its being savaged in reviews on rotten tomatoes, but I dont think they rated the 1st one all that well either

I'm not quite sure why I've been hearing all this hate for Burn After Reading. Watched it tonight, totally exceeded my expectations (from all the downplaying that people have been giving it). Not the greatest or the funniest, but still good and very funny.

Astroboy. two thumbs up from the guy who hates anime... Moon w/ zaphod beeblebrox, er i mean sam rockwell. i liked it. El Superbeasto - loved it. i pretty much agree with bhu's description... Couples Retreat - meh... its aight... not the best VV movie ever... GI Joe resolute - i didnt see the live action movie this summer, but this cartoon has to better than it. i think its better than the original series.. some minor reality issues, but its an action cartoon, they get a pass for that stuff..

Watched Coraline. Was pleasantly surprised. First movie intended for kids I've seen in ages that hasn't made me want to hang myself.
Oh and I'm officially writing my review for my first Chuck Norris film. See if you can guess which one from the description:
Hang around the internet long enough and you’ll be told that Chuck Norris is a deity who can do no wrong, kill you with his eyelashes, is the second coming of Jesus, and has never made a bad film. If any frothing Norris fan ever actually repeats this crap to you, show them this movie. It will wound them in their quiet place. Detective John Shepherd (Chuck Norris) is hired to find a kidnapped jewel cutter, despite the daughter of his last client dying. Nothing looks good on a resume like “50% of my clients have survived the John Shepherd experience”.

Which is why I sustain that Chuck Norris is actually one of Gendou Ikari's failed disciples.
