Okay, one more question. The Walker in the Waste PrC (Sandstorm 89ff) loses two caster levels as-is. Would it be thus exempt from the extra lost CL, since it's not a full progression and loses a CL at the very first level anyway, or would it lose another one somewhere in between? Idea forming in head... gotta look throgh books for domains.

Agita, it was pointed out to me, not sure if you noticed. PrCing out of cleric means you don't keep gaining domains, as those domains are class features you forfeit.

Oh. No, didn't notice that. That would be a mayor hit indeed. hmm. :-\

Walker in the Waste wouldn't lose any extra caster levels, no.
Pity you had to step away Smudgy. Hope everything works out ok.

@Strat - do you have any more information on your Spelless Ranger variant? It looks interesting, but you didn't really spell out what the feats could be. I'm going to be taking the archery path.
Also, any ideas on what favored enemies I should take?

There is no direct list of feats because the sources are meant to be open ended. For my purposes, any feat that directly affects and requires an ammo using ranged weapon is fine.

Tossing around some more ideasin my head... are martial adepts and manifesters (mainly psychic warriors) subject to similar houserules as casters?

Psions and Erudites would be. The others, no.

Great. New character idea almost done. oh, and what do you say to custom magic item rules? In particular, a wondrous item that can cast Endure Elements on its wearer upon uttering the command wourd once per day would cost a measly 360 gp, easily affordable even with 450 starting gold with some juggling of resources. (Oh, and since everything from the PHB needs to be cleared through you, if Endure Elements isn't allowed, the whole post is moot.)

I would say no on two counts: Spells from the PHB are more or less gone, and I also don't want anything that makes the desert too easy.

Alright. Guess I'll have to try a little harder then. Two more requests from the PHB, after which I promise I'll shut up about the PHB (well, except for equipment. Most weapons, armor, and mundane equipment come from the PHB, including waterskins, trail rations, and similar vital stuff, so what happens to that?). To wit; Power Attack and (later) Improved Sunder. The former being more important than the latter, which is intended simply to qualify for Combat Brute. Sorry if I'm annoying you, but the PHB just contains a lot of things, especially feats and equipment, that are (in the case of feats) prerequisites for lots of other feats outside the PHB, and in the case of equipment simply vital (food and drink, for one).

I know the PHB has a lot of things, but in most cases, the answer will be no. Removing it was rather intentional, and that includes Power Attack and Sunder. Power Attack was one of the feats I had in mind when I chucked it, even.

And now I am getting interested in the Siphoner. In some ways, I think it would be more fun to play, but I also think we're all going to die in unmarked graves in the desert.
Are there any feats developed for the Siphoner? I know it said it was a work in progress, but it sounds fun.

Anything in the Stratovarius's Collection thread has no feats, sorry. And yes, its not a complete class yet, although it's fairly well developed.

Out of curiosity, why would that be?

Because it tends to be the centrepoint of abuse for any massive damage dealing build. And because all but a few melee builds have it, which means there is a design flaw there.
I'm interested in seeing what people can do when any feat that uses it is disabled.

Updated the Siphoner class, for those who want to take a second look at. There are still no feats for the class however.

Out of curiosity, why would that be? Why not try some of Strato`s stuff, instead of clinging to the one book he really really doesnt like? He`s kinda stubborn. I`ve been trying to convince him the Chronomancer needs more skills for months.

Odin, Feral Shifter Feral Shifter. "Can I drown the dead rat now?" Loke, Dread Magnate "Me all good and nice. Ask any questions and I`ll kill you twice." DnD classes is kind of like art. You make lots of stuff that everyone loves but aint no fun to play. This one is like getting a nude pic of Britney Spears when she was hot above your bed. Anyone can appreciate it. And it works as it should in practise, not just in theory. -Me to Strato regarding his Elemental
