Skarrandar walks out to find his other companions.  "Jaedrus-" he says, looking around.

Anybody want to help with a streetwise check to find this dude?

"It's alright... I know where to find him."

Darius motions to follow, and starts heading down the path.

As an aside, he says "So you know, don't make this guy sore with you.  Packs a killer right hook."

I'm assuming I already know where he is, right?

Chuckling at Darius's remark, Carric falls in step behind him.

Gwaah! Invisitext!
Telchar takes the javelin from the boy and gives him a big, beardly (is that a word?) smile. "Why thank you lad. You've got a good head on your shoulders." He then turns and falls in line with his new friends as they look for Jaedrus.

I suppose I might find out what's happening if I follow them..  Alright, I suppose it's worth it.

Doriavan starts off after the rest of the fighters, hoping to eventually get to the bottom of this.

Yes, Darius knows where he is, but the knowledge won't be necessary.

You start down the path, keeping an eye out for any more of the small lizardfolk, when you hear a man shouting aggressively ahead of you.
Darius would recognize Jaedrus's voice.

A kobold pops out of a building (about 100 feet ahead of you), and lands on his back.  You notice that the kobold is smaller than the other ones and is only wearing cloth garments rather than the hide armor of the other raiders.
You can easily see that he's clutching some sort of object to his chest as he gets up and starts to run down the path, away from you.
Jaedrus runs out of the building, and shouts, Get back here with that, you damn kobold!!!  I'll have your hide!.
As he sees the group of you approaching, he yells, Get that horrible cretin!  He stole something from the temple!.

Roll Initiative again.  This is a skill challenge.
(I looked at the rules, and I don't think that you can delay.)
Obvious skills are: Perception, Athletics, Acrobatics, and Streetwise.
Obvious skills may change, and I will let you know if and when they do.

Initiative (1d20 2=5)

Don't forget, +1 racial bonus to Initiative as long as you're within 50 feet of me.
And fun fact, IC is blocked here at work.  Bummer.

1d20+4=23

Carric draws his dagger. Stealing from the rich is one thing... stealing from a church? That's a different matter entirely.

I Hate you Hari. I roll a nat 20 for a 22 and STILL don't go first.
Telchar spits and growls at the kobold. "Grarrr! C'mere, you little runt!"

Alright, up first is Hari, followed by Hughes and JM with Chris and Eric following up from the rear.

You see the kobold scrambling for purchase on the dirt path through the town.  Townspeople look out of their houses only to dart back inside as the kobold runs by.

Carric crouches to a sprinting position and pushes forward, pressing off the ground with his right leg, propelling himself against the side of the church. Briefly making contact, he pushes off again, this time with his left, trying to close the gap between him and the Kobold.

Success!

Your leap from the side of the temple both propels you forward and helps you avoid a few obstacles, putting you closer to the fleeing thief.

"Bah, you and your fancy athletics! We dwarves are natural sprinters!" says Telchar as he charges after the kobold with surprising speed.

Also, Telchar shows his Int score in this one...

Telchar runs after the kobold through a crowd of people.
Hasty apologies and shouts of alarm litter the air as the kobold darts through the crowd, Telchar in hot pursuit and several others in his considerable wake.

To recap the session:

You failed the skill challenge to catch the kobold, and allowed him to escape with what you found out was a very dangerous, evil item.
Jaedrus implored you to get it back, and you decided to at least try.

You learned where the villiage of the kobolds was, and succeeded in navigating your way there.
when you got there, you arrived in such a way that you found a great place to hold an ambush for the kobolds.

The next day, you ran up to the camp, managed to get a ton of kobolds chasing you, and ran back to the ambush area.
The kobolds were slaughtered, but you didn't find the item among their remains, so you went to find it in their villiage.

When you arrived at the villiage, a substantial number of kobolds had been rallied to stand against you to the end.
These too, fell, and the rewards you found in the city were great indeed.

You went back to the town of Almarck and gave Jaedrus back the artifact, as news of your destruction of the entire kobold villiage spread.
Darius had a carved stone created for the occasion.

At the celebration that followed, a wonderful time was had at the coinpurse as everyone rejoiced and Doriavan managed to learn some interesting stuff.

The celebration was temporarily brought to a halt as hundreds of "invaders" were seen in the forest.
Fear gripped the town for a while as you went to meet the threat.
Luckily for everyone, it turned out to be nothing more than a nomadic group of elves looking to settle down for a short while.

In the next morning, Tobias is to have a meeting with the representative of the elven people.

During the course of the session you recieved or found:
100sp & 50gp
120gp
a potion of healing & 70gp
Sylvan Leather Armor (Level 3 item)

You should currently have 500xp

(50+70+120+100sp)/5 = 49 gp each, right? And 20 sp = 1 gp, correct?

Put a spoiler tag on that if you would.
10sp = 1gp so:
50+70+120+10=250 250/5=50gp

After the brief brush with the fear of invasion, Tobias allows everyone to go back to the coinpurse and continue the celebration.

The celebration never quite reaches the height it had before the interruption, but fun was had by all.

You all find your way into a bed eventually, (yours or someone else's) and pass the night.

In the morning, the whole town is abuzz with rumors and gossip about the new elven arrivals.
You hear that Tobias is supposed to have a meeting with a small representative group around noon.
Give me a streetwise check please.
