A 521 : No. You explicitly only get a standard action. By RAW, you can't even use that standard action to do a swift action instead, but I let that happen as a house rule.

Technically, no. You can't take them outside your turn, and the surprise round has only a single standard action allowed. In my view, this is certainly a place for reasonable house rules.

I don't know what versatile performer does, but is it possible that the killoren ancient might do so? (allows you to spend 10 minutes to make ANY knowledge check, even in untrained, with a +4 bonus).

The idea is if you have say... 10 ranks in Knowledge (any) you'd have 10 ranks in Knowledge (any 10). 15 ranks = any 15. Basically he wants to drastically reduce the skill point cost of being a sage character.

Q524 How can I cast a spell with personal range on someone besides myself? This is in general; I already know about Master Abjurer10's ability.

Hood - My first answer to all your build questions; past, present, and future. Speaking of which: Don't even need TO for this. Any decent Hood build, especially one with Celerity, one-rounds [Azathoth, the most powerful greater deity from d20 Cthulu]. Does it bug anyone else that we've reached the point where characters who can obliterate a greater deity in one round are considered "decent?"

Not following the A: format because this solution is fairly limited: Spellguard of Silverymoon's level 4 ability allows you to share spells that increase AC, grant a saving throw bonus, or grant HP (temp HP or healing). Divine Power and Righteous Might both qualify, incidentally.

Depends on who you want to cast it on, and what level of spell. Ideas off the top of my head: 1. You can share it with your familiar. 2. Make a potion. 3. Imbue with Spell Ability 4. They might be a spellthief.

You can't brew potions containing personal range spells. 1-shot wondrous items however...

Q525: Just for clarification, feats and ability score increases are based off of HD, not ECL, right? So a 4th level character with +1 LA would have their 3rd level bonus feat, but not their ability score increase, while a 3rd level character would have neither?

That's right. They're based of hit dice only.

Q 526: When you turn an enemy into stone (via Flesh to Stone or similar), do they count as natural stone or worked stone?
I'm looking at what kind of low level options I'd have when pairing up with a Totemist 2 who has a Basilisk Mask shaped, which can turn an opponent to stone but only for 1 round.

There is some paladin spell that allows you to do this.... Complete Champ, maybe... not there.... Hmmm.... I'd swear there was such a spell....

Repost, as it will likely come up in my game tonight. Q 519: The undead type states: [Undead] cannot heal damage on its own if it has no Intelligence score, although it can be healed. Negative energy (such as an inflict spell) can heal undead creatures. The fast healing special quality works regardless of the creature’s Intelligence score. Does the bolded section mean that undead with an Intelligence score heal naturally (ie - heals HP's equal to HD each night of rest), or is it referring to the fact unintelligent undead don't have the knowledge required to seek magical healing, unlike intelligent undead, which will seek magical healing, as it is the only way for them to heal?

I'm reading it as the latter, just because it would be silly otherwise.
