Coron Suvroc - Master of Black and White, Apprentice of Smoke, "Master Raven"/"Lord Crow"/"Black Bird"

Background -
The official record of Corvus' life is a clean, tidy document. In it, he is said to have been born a printer's son, his mother and father working a press they owned, and raised to follow in his father's footsteps. However, when he was 20 years of age, quite young for an elf, his skills with reading attracted the attention of an arcanist who worked with his father's printing press. His father thinking of the potential for his son's future agree to have the boy apprentice as a bookkeeper and personal librarian, and so Corvus was accepted. However, his skills at maintaining, preserving, and acquiring books for his master were almost as good as his ability to intake large amounts of information. And due to a slower aging process, and his human masters business with semi-legal monetary acquisitions, he spent about 25 years learning about magic, as well as pretty much everything else under the sun, via his master's library.

At some point, after 45 years of loyal and excellent work, his master was working on an experiment, and he needed an assistant. Naturally, this fell to Corvus, and lucky for the master that it did; the alchemical formula was incorrect, and had Corvus not noticed this and corrected his master, they both would have been killed by the ensuing poisonous smoke. Surprised and impressed by his student's ability, Corvus caught his second break, with his master's offer to train him. After a quick 5 years of study, Corvus was quite the impressive apprentice wizard. After seeking a letter of recommendation from his master, Corvus joined the Inverted Pyramid, pursuing his studies further, and while mastering illusions there, he was recruited to the libraries of the House of Black and White. He has been studying the books and keeping them at the House for the last 60 years, out of sight of the public, and has instructed in illusion-craft and divination to less experienced wizards and sorcerers since.

What the record omits is the name Narcion Dorrenhan, the wizard who trained him, who was arrested and executed by the City Watch after they found evidence of his involvement with the rebels. It omits the record of the Inverted Pyramid's acceptance of Corvus Suvroc, and details of his life there (50 years of time, for which there is no record of him finding lodgings or accepting assignments).  Almost nothing from the House of Black and White ever makes it out, as psychotic about records and secrets as they are. Nor, upon severe inspection, does it appear that an Elf with the surname Suvroc ever owned a printing press before his birth; in fact, while a record for a press exists, there are few jobs taken under the press' name, and it appears to have been created around Coron's 30th year. Still, his record as presented is unblemished, and has never provokes paranoia as to instigate a further in-depth investigation. Coron lives a quiet, clean life, and as far as anyone knows, always has.

Description -
The House of Black and White becomes it's members, and the members become the name and colors. All of the grandeur, brightness, and luminosity that Gray Elves exhibit has been long drained from the features of Coron. His skin seems gaunt and withering, not quite wilted but grayed nonetheless, and tight against his bones. His hair, once silver, has lost it's shine, and is now a dulled gray, wherever it has not been inexplicably tainted a dark, soot-like black. His eyebrows are the pastel gray, revealing the unnatural tone of the hair in his head. The bright, rich amber of his eyes has long dulled to gray, though the tint of amber, like old copper leaf, can be barely seen below the glassy surface. His eyes are further sunken into his face ever so slightly, and at first glance you might expect he had been shadowing his eyes with makeup, until you realize it is only the darkened tone of the skin that gives it that quality, and amplifies the sunken appearance.

At the same time, appearances can be initially deceiving. His bones are joined by tight, taut muscle, not strong but tough, and his ghastly movement is still fluid and smooth, betraying the agility of his race. This bodily strength is not especially odd, until you realize that he is nearly halfway through the natural lifespan of his kind, and the body does not reflect that age. Despite his monotone look, there is still the allure of the Elven races about him, especially in the colorless eyes, though this beauty is more frightening than that of other elves. And behind those eyes is the calculating look that betrays a man who can narrow down your very nature, and undo you with that knowledge should he choose.

He doesn't stand tall, though he has been described by those few outside of the House that have seen him as having a strong, calculating aura when speaking to you. At the same time, most claim to be often completely oblivious to his presence, as if he were a shadow, a dead leaf on the wind. His rich voice has not been taken from him; though he may not speak in any variety of tones, his voice still holds a vibrant, deep quality, as if spoken down a well but without the echoing quality. In fact, even in a large hall, his voice has an unnatural tendency to seem as if it isn't echoing at all. And even when whispering, though none around might hear him, he never seems to need to speak silently.

As a result, most are unnerved greatly by his very presence, much less his attention. But those who aren't have a strange respect for him, even upon the first meeting, describing his quality as "quite noble in his airs." The reality remains that most do not notice him coming or going (or, some suggest, watching), though whether this is due to his magic or nature, none can easily say.

Here I Am.

Kyle Keelthorn Human Abjurer 5

Crafter, abjurer and fill-in-the-gaps wizard of the group. Dark Human with a darkness phobia and a great amount of spells in his book.

Description & Background:
Tall and extremely thin, Kyle stands engulfed in the radiant light that his robe constantly emanates to protect him from the Darkness where he came from and that he hates and fears. His skin has pinkish grey color and his pale blue eyes are orphaned of the light that once shone in 'em, bright like a spring cloudless sky. When it comes to magic he is the perfect scholar. He used to stay up night after night, studying spells and his other love: the fine art of crafting.

Usually withdrawn, reflective, almost parainoid thinks through every decision before he decides to act, trying to work out in his mind every possible scenario. A keen observer of machines, mechanical devices(magical and nonmagical) and items of magical nature, seems to lose whatever else is around him sometimes.

He assumed his Dark nature several years ago when he was discovered by the Imperium studying and using arcane magic without permission and was trapped in the Shadow Plane for several days as a punishment. There his fear of the dark, that he thought long gone, left in his childish years, sprang back to life, almost as if it had been there, lurking somewhere inside him, ready to pounce at the right time.
Once he got back from the the reign of shadows, he wasn't the same anymore; his fear had gotten the best of him and still now it haunts him when he can't see a source of light near him.

Elle (the enabler) Illumian Abjurer/Cleric
Spreadsheet w/ build and treasure tracking.

Party Role: Counter Caster and spell enhancer (next level I can start applying my metamagic to their spells)

Special notes: Ring of Sustinance Item Familiar (No need to eat or drink and only 2 hrs of sleep needed), It also grants +10% xp and bonus to Spellcraft.

Resistances/Immunity: No particular resistances or immunity active. Anticipate teleport kept active.

Elle began her time as a hunter, though she did study the rebels and methods of hunting them. It was this interest in hunting the rebels that lead her to study magic full time. She was educated in the silent method by the Silent Sisters. She then tried to join the church to further obey the will of magic. This was a regrettable decision on her part. Through conflicts with superiors and over all disillusionment she was punished in solitary confinement, in what they call the Hole. After her stint in the hole she was forced out of the church. Not knowing what she was to do with her life shed decided to return to what she loved most, the study of magic. It wasn't long before she had made some breakthroughs in working with metamagic and using her faith to enable her to counter other spellcasters. These talents quickly got her the attention of some important people and consequently an invitation to an elite group.

Clerics and Druids are like the 4 and 2 in 42. Together they are the answer to the ultimate question in D&D.
Retire the character before the DM smacks you with the Table as the book will feel totally inadequate now.-Hazren

Syllia, the Magic-Blooded Greensnake Naga Conjurer/Malconvoker.  Still have to fill out the summon lists.

Description:
Syllia is a slender, delicate woman with exotic, alien features.  Her skin is a silvery yellow mottled with patches of green scales, particularly around the neck and the backs of her hands.  Her eyes are very wide and have vertical slits; her irises are gold flecked with black.  Her metallic green hair is very long and usually kept in a braid that falls to her waist, shot through with silver and gold threads.  She always wears elaborate green dresses, with complex sinuous patterns embroidered in silver and gold.  She is also always barefoot.

Background:
When Syllia was discovered by the Delver's Guild, she was just a girl, sleeping peacefully next to the slain body of one of the Fallen, whose body was bloated and discolored from poison.  When she awoke, her story was horrific: her parents had been sacrificed by members of the Fallen in a horrible demonic rite, and she had only escaped by stabbing her captor repeatedly until he succumbed to the poison on her knife.

She grew up in the Guild, where her caretakers recognized her magical potential and encouraged it.  Her hatred and loathing for the Fallen grew even as she did, and soon she began experimenting with summoning demons to use against the denizens of the Dungeon.  She takes great satisfaction in the idea of destroying the Fallen with their own kind.

Syllia is a general of meatshields, controller of battlefields, magical swiss-army knife, and all-around badass.

Immunities: Shadowlands Taint (?), bullshit.

I'm not just a druid -- I'm a singing, dancing, Broadway druid.

Description

Jazra is using a Hat of disguise (looking like a headband) to maintain the looks he did in life, that of a thin middle aged man with a face that seems to say "This guy gets what he wants". His hair is silvery and reaches his shoulders. He speaks in a low voice and moves with long strides.

Background

History
Jazra was born in Gratis as the third child into a family of somewhat fanatic sorcerers who have served the Empire for 8 generations, when demonic blood was first mixed with theirs and with it, a talent for magic. The thing is, Jazra never really managed some things the other members of the family could do, he was never able to make a broom sweep a floor by itself or light his fathers pipe with nothing but a few incantations. And to his own dismay, he was not only weaker in body than all the others, but he was also quite late in being able to do anything by magic. Still, trying to be true to his heritage he made his best to try and catch up with his (at the time) 2 siblings and when his talent started to emerge and his family realized that his known amount of spells soon outmatched those of any recorded member of the family since magic was first introduced to it Jazra was only spurred to study harder. Trying to earn back his lost pride with interest. This in combination with an odd sense of belonging to negative energy he ended up applying for membership in the Inverted Pyramid, still trying to understand his own power and then strengthen it. Much like the rest of his family, he found his need for power to be born from the urge to serve the Empire and as such he subjected himself as a test subject to others who were interested in his weird development. As one thing led to another he ended up agreeing to join an experiment to see if his control of negative energy extended to that in magical objects. It turned out it didn't (or at least not the way he desired it to) and Jazra did not make it out alive, but that did not stop him. Now an undead, Jazra literally sealed himself up with mountains of books for weeks, trying to learn as much as possible of what he had become. Some high-ranking members of the IP knew of his undeath of course, it's impossible to keep it a secret for long in a place full of arcane researchers. But since the creation of undead is illegal the knowledge was kept at a need to know basis, he was, after all, some great research material. Jazra did plan on leaving however, his motivation for pleasing his family by serving the empire gone with his last breath. But it was thanks to his old colleague Kae (one of the few creatures he still met and talked to), that he realized that his current existence might serve a purpose, that perhaps he could once again find something to "live" for. Because as things looked now, the world he had worked so hard to strengthen had turned him into something it did not seem to accept. And it was also thanks to Kae that he came to meet Master Lo.
Family
Parents
Father
Heth Silvermane: a sorcerer of few words and little compassion who did his best to raise/force his four children to become the perfect citizens. He is still alive, although he old as dirt. Jazra can count the happy memories of his father on one hand.
Mother
Jillian Silvermane: a woman with average magic skills who is somewhat younger than her husband. This has not stopped her from living her entire life since their marriage through him.

Siblings

Lunete
The oldest of the four siblings, a woman who works for the city guard as a mage. She is pretty much a female replica of her father.

Hodge
Jazras older brother, something of a nitwit with mediocre magic skills who lives the good life thanks to his heritage and the family wealth. Kae makes no secret of the fact that he is disappointed with him (though Hodge does not seem to care any longer) and Jazra has suspected for quite some time now that Hodge will be left out of the will when their father finally dies.

Jess
The (by far) youngest of the four siblings. She is in her early twenties and is as sharp as a razor. As things look now, she will probably join the Inverted Pyramid in a few years. Although the difference in age, she and Jazra get along fairly well.

Jazra views his older brother and sister more like colleagues with a common boss more than family, he cares little for his parents any longer. Jess is the only other member of the family whose company he enjoys, though he has begun to fear that she'll discover his lack of life if they ever start meeting on a regular basis. All the siblings, as well as their father share the family traits of silvery hair and blue eyes, it is rumored that this trait  was introduced to the family with the magic and the demonic blood.
