Dear DM, I do have a question : where are we going to begin in the Forgotten Realms ? I do have some ideas for my character background, but I'd rather verify if it is compatible with the place first. I'm not very used to Faerûn, especially their fairies...
Is there the traditional Seelie/Unseelie division among the faes ?
If it is there, then my DFA, Amaryllis Evergreen
is a petty noble from the Winter court, a Margravine/Marquise/ Marchioness of some forgotten swamp in a fae forest. Said swamp was once ago the lair of a powerful black dragon, who died during a mating contest. Dragon blood oozed in the murky waters, feeding the plants, including the very proteus where Amarillys was born.
By some strange magic, she was somehow connected, attuned to dragons, sharing a dint of blood with this majestuous creatures.
By her birth, her duty was to lead other sprites in battle,to defend their homeland. That was what she was educated for, at first. But in her flesh, she was feeling a different call. Even more curious than usual for her race, she started to study, to experiment, to collect any information concerning the dragons. And one day... almost by accident, she managed to unleash a terrifying breath. It was frightening, sure, but it was... liberating. powerful. HER power.
Since then, she has travelled a lot, in order to master her gift.
As her social status, either she is an outcast from her homelands, travelling in a quest of self-improvement, or she is some kind of ambassador or spy from the local winter court. Both options can be interesting, which one is better to integrate the plot ?
Amarillys is around 75 cm tall, very pale with white hair, and stricking, cold, deep blue eyes. She is regal in aspect, very proud of her nobility among the feys, always clad in elegant court robes. She is not a mischevious flying little prankster, thank you, and will correct any fool who dares to not show her proper respect. A fey, and a dragon-blooded, Amarillys is mercurial in her mood. A creature of powerful emotions and whims, she is able to change in an instant from happy laughter to cold anger. She might cry in true pain if she discovers a dead fallen nestling, and be completely indifferent to pleas of help from a whole family trapped in a burning house, or studying with complete fascination the different glints of terror in the eye of a tortured prisonner.
Ever vigilant, somehow arrogant, calculating, she values strict order and loyalty. Noblesse Oblige
, she is true to her word, if you manage to obtain it. However, she has no compassion for others and kill without qualms if doing so is convenient. She is the queen on a game where everyone else are her pawns, obstacles or non-entities. The world is a stage where she is the prima donna
, grand entrances are a given and breathes of flames punctuation. Besides, if things get too hot, she has always her personnal invisible stage door, isn't she ?Amaryllis Evergreen

- Immune any team member from her breathes each day, as well as protect you from cold or hot environment.
- Cast Dispel Magic at will.
- cast Charm-Monster at will.
- fly with good manoeuvrability, attack or cast an invocation at any point during a flight move.
- can breath as a dragon, in a 60 feet line or a 30 feet cone. Her breath might be of fire, of cold, or slow
down her foes. She can do half damage with her breath to entangle
- improve all team members around her dexterity skill-checks, and Initiative checks.
- be the team scout and ambush-detector.
- be the party face, even without Charm-person.
- inflicts AOE damage without endangering allies, as well as Battlefield control.
