Q249:Can a Druid//Totemist benefit from soulmelds while wildshaped?
A249: They still have bodies and Con scores, and soulmelds are class/feat abilities rather than items. So, yes. Though I have no idea what happens when you lose a body part with something shaped on it, like hands when you wildshape into, say, a snake. Protip: Don't Do That. See MoI Chapter 7's opening pages. It explains that some creatures have forms inappropriate for shaping soulmelds and that these creatures end up being very restricted meldshapers; whereas some creature have the proper chakra slots despite being distinctly nonhumanoid (wolves or Dragons, for example, have all of the required body slots). But you had the appropriate slots starting out; don't things like this just look at prereqs while they're being initiated, and then don't bother with it later? Like spells and such?

Thank you for directing me to the correct section of the book to answer your question later in that section it says A creature’s access to chakras depends on its current physical form, not its natural form. Thus, a character who uses polymorph to turn into a snake loses access to his hands chakra. If he takes on a form that lacks a chakra to which he currently has a soulmeld bound, that bind is lost until the character assumes a form that allows it. At that point, the character must unshape and reshape the meld in order to bind it to the chakra again.

Pure serendipity that I chose that exact example. So...just be careful that everything you turn into has at least four limbs and a head with a face, and you should be fine.

Can they wear multiple sets of gloves? Thri-kreen can't, and neither can anything else with multiple limbs, far as I know.

(Sneakily tries again...)
Q245: How can I get an aura like effect for my level 12ish wizard? I want beings nearby to actually feel his power. 'As The Frost' is great, but very short duration. Anything to slow, crush, brain frizzle etc nearby beings?
Items?
Any way to add an effect to an aura spell/ability? (such as anticipate teleportation)
PrC's?
Thanks

Bump Q248
The arcane archer can use Imbue Arrow to place an area spell on an arrow and fire it. Per the SRD, this takes a standard action to both cast the spell and fire the arrow. Does this also apply to spells with longer casting times?
I'm specifically wondering if I could, say, use Imbue Arrow to fire and cast Hindsight, and get the effects of it in a round instead of an hour. I'd like to know the answer to that too. Mainly the first part.

I looked at 7-fold but it's only 1min/level and only a couple of times a day. I'd never use Initiate of Mystra. Ever. Epic feat is ideal, but... epic. Surley the almighty wizard can pull this off at level 12-13. I'm not even looking for something overpowered, just interesting.

Yeah, there is heaps of good emination from self spells in the spell compendium, but they all have really short durations. Anyone know of a list of persistable arcane spells?

Nice idea! If only domain wizard wasn't broken. You want free damage and/or debuffing that doesn't even take actions all day long. Anything that impresses you is going to be out of line, and probably well known for it. You can't have it both ways, either you're getting a lot of something for nothing, or you aren't.

If you stop ignoring 289 pages telling what the intent is to stretch "more power" in your own god complexion of your interpretation trumps all to cover ability adjustments from aging then I will ignore a quarter page of rules that exist within a sidebar.
I think in this case the grammar is less important than whether the Str and Dex bonus provided to your created undead scales.

While not directly a bonus, Brutal Throw lets you apply your Str mod in the attack rolls of the thrown weapons... if your Str mod is greater than the Dex mod it is be a good pick.
