I see that as a possible side effect. I went with kitten-friend because I saw it while making the character and took the possibility to make the character even more silly.

A fraction of a second later a small cat girl is flying through the air at the boy with the shiny thing...
Which shiny thing? Technically, everything in the room is shiny, even the people.
