Alright, makes sense.  Know:Arcana is 52  +5 attack and damage vs. constructs.

Cast Lesser Orb of Acid.  Ranged touch = 26  Damage = 30

Edit: oops. I had forgotten something. This is the one that keeps some of the base creature's abilities. Smile

The ball of acid lands solidly on the door and just splatters on it harmlessly.

Gah, when you said that before I should have rolled a knowledge check about resistances.

True, I would have expended it to cast Nerveskitter if I'd have been thinking anyway.  Just annoying because they were good rolls.  Carry on, heh.

Ok, I use my previous grapple check to break free, if that is not successful, I will try again.

1d20+16 ? [10,11] = (21)

If i break free, I grab my guisarme and stand ready for more, If i don't i curse him in the name of the earth lord and insult his mother.  and his goat.

to maintain pin (1d20+13=27) vs. 28. Winner: Alastar
to maintain grapple (1d20+13=18) vs. 27 Winner: Alastar

You are free from the grapple after using two of your three attacks as grapples, but you are now prone. Note that using at least 2 attacks automatically puts you in full attack mode, and with only your iterative attack left, which very sadly can't be replaced with a move action.
Looking at your character sheet...no locked gauntlet, so your weapon is dropped. No improved unarmed strike or spiked gauntlets...but you are wearing Full Plate which includes Gauntlets for free(I'll even say they're MW).

You have two attack options available, but be warned that doing so might land you in a sticky situation.
If you dare:
MW Gauntlets +8 vs. AC(-5 iterative, -4 prone) 1d3+6 or Trip +7 vs. touch AC

You also have a Swift action left if you wish to use it for some random reason.

(The secret third option is to pass the turn)

The insult is lost on the mimic, whose mother is a pile of magically animated ice.

(.1 second AI script)
Evaluating threat levels:

Stony humanoid: moderate
Pointy-eared humanoid: negligible
Shadowy humanoid: negligible
Invisible foe(unknown type): massive

Calculating projectile origin: origin is 5 ft x 10 ft region inside darkness. Maximum odds of successful assault: 24%

Evaluating next threat: Stony humanoid.

Location known. Within double assault range. Maximal odds of successful assault: 95% per assault.

Optimal attack pattern: double assault on Stony Humanoid

The mimic's flexible form creates two arm-like protrusions which come as Kerasot for a one-two punch.
2 slam attacks on Kerasot (1d20+9=12, 1d20+9=28)

The first slam misses by a good margin, but the construct recalculates its aim for the second attack, scoring a successful hit. However the hit is a glancing blow, and even as it tries to grab the stony humanoid, it has trouble getting a good grip.

slam damage and grapple: apply your DR (1d8+4=6, 1d20+13=17)

Kerasot: roll a 2 or whatever you need to beat that-or tie. You have the higher modifier so you win ties.

Edit: just checked Kerasot's sheet. He ties on a 1, and 1 is not a failure for grapple. The mimic fails.
Kaz is up(delayed but never took his action last turn=same init, I think).

AC defaults on his turn. Action shifts to the Raptoran.

I just remembered that it was my go again.

So yeah.  Same drill as last time.  Swooping in to within 30', swooping out to where my darkness won't affect my allies.

attacks (1d20 23=31, 1d20 23=33)

first shot first, etc. (1d8 10 3d6=30, 1d8 10 3d6=22)

The mimic-of-a-mimic spasms, then decomposes into a pile of gooey-looking-ice.
The door(having melted) is now open.

Beyond the door is a hallway that goes both right and left. In each direction after 50 ft, the hallway turns around a corner towards the front of the castle. Each side of the hallway has two doors, about 20 ft apart from each other.

We should keep moving, I think. Caelali, can you check the doors to make sure we haven't alerted anything inside?
