Dude, is this some kind of a personal vendetta? I know that Giacomo can be annoying, but aren't you exaggerating a bit?
I'm starting to think that our Giacomo is you, Solo.

Optimizing is the antithesis of roleplaying because it takes focus away from the important parts of the game.
I'm inclined to disagree. People work hard on there characters, there personality, back ground, appearance, so forth. No one wants there character that they have invested time, energy, thought, and probably emotion in to be killed because they didn't take strong enough feats or skills or spells or what have you.

I'm flattered.
Where are the cross-class ranks in Use Magic Device?
You simple fool! Those listed skills were only the ones the Expert class would choose as his class skills. Obviously, the Expert is free to cross class into UMD to his heart's content after purchasing a few ranks of Speak Language for Latin, French, and other important languages.

Now, the argument could be made for taking UMD instead of Speak Language and simply cross classing into the latter to save on skill points, but that would negate the very point of putting cross class skill points into UMD, which we all know is the monk's true source of power.

I don't know if the designers meant you to take Skill Focus for every feat.

Sounds a little OP.

It's not like he took Skill Focus (Basketweaving), so it's not all that bad.

Instead of trolling, can you improve the monk class, make it something that the boards would be proud of?

Why would you want to nerf monks.

exactly! oh wait, there's already an unarmed swordsage variant.  Hmm. What can you do then? I guess go back to reminding the boards about something that was funny a long time ago.  Like charlie sheen.

Grasshopper, my time of glory has passed. Perhaps it is time for you to step up and astound the world with your accomplishments?

It would be rather sad, after all, if the one criticizing a has-been turned out to be a never-was.

Now if you will excuse me, I have to go put the hooker in the closet.

Let's use the quirks of the monk to our advantage. Namely, that a monk's body counts as a manufactured weapon.

Let's add some weapon enhancements!

Question is: Can you wield your head with both hands to get 1 1/2 Strength modifier to head butt damage?

And then uber charge with it? Think about pounce. Now add 4 feet of hair. And perhaps a guitar for cosmetic purposes.

Head banging monk pouncer:

I say this thread has accomplished much.

A FOP possesses a monk; can you add enhancements in this manner?

If we get to +8 we can add everdancing...

Well there is a hangup of weather or not a monk's body is masterwork quality. Necklace of Natural Weapons(SS) lets you add named enhancements to natural weapons so you can still try for the everdancing.

Hmmmm.... this would require some liberal rules interpretations, but if we're treating the monk's body as a manufactured weapon for all purposes...

You could get a doctor (Or perhaps a personal trainer Smile) to turn your body into a masterwork weapon (costing the normal 150 gp, of course). That same doctor/trainer could then (at the same time), make the body out of a special material.

Imagine it: Human monk, masterwork adamantine body! (Look out, it's wolverine!). Or, if your DM has likes dismemberment, an Aurorum body. And you could make your body feycraft for free weapon finesse.
