This is in part a call for a tier system for feats, which somewhat already exists.  (I disagree with these prices.)

I'm interested in the effects, not the prereqs of these feats.

Me
-Battle Jump (Unapproachable East)
-Dragonfire Inspiration (Races of the Dragon)
-Fiery Burst (Complete Mage)
-Improved Initiative
=Martial Stance (Tome of Battle)
-Martial Study (Tome of Battle)
-Psicrystal Affinity (Expanded Psionics Handbook)
-Sun School (Complete Warrior)

Hood - My first answer to all your build questions; past, present, and future.

Speaking of which:
Don't even need TO for this.  Any decent Hood build, especially one with Celerity, one-rounds [Azathoth, the most powerful greater deity from d20 Cthulu].
Does it bug anyone else that we've reached the point where characters who can obliterate a greater deity in one round are considered "decent?"

I like Jotunbrud for tripping builds.

Divine Metamagic (Complete Divine page 80)
Fell Animate (Libris Mortis page 26)

And especially combining them. First level zombies with a human is so sweet.

I don't know if the designers meant you to take Skill Focus for every feat.
Sounds a little OP.

The monk is clearly the best class, no need to optimize here. What you are doing is overkill.

It's like people who have no idea what a turn signal is. They ruin it for everyone else.
When another driver brandishes a holy symbol and begins glowing with divine light, seek cover or get spattered with zombie brains. I do not see what is so complicated about this.

Some Cool Quotes
Quote from: unknown
Non-PC activities like out of combat healing should be left to wands and NPCs. It's not fun to play a walking wand of CLW. Likewise, being a combat wall is not a viable PC role. A Wall of Force could do that.

-Sort of, but you left out the important note that a Wall of Force does it better.

Quote from: Runestar / skydragonknight
The most powerful character is the one that you actually get to play.

Quote from: Operation Shoestring
I often have to remind people not to underrate divination.  The ability to effectively metagame without actually metagaming beats the ability to set things on fire more times than not.

Divine Metamagic - metamagic generally feels unusable unless you get a reducer, and this is one of the easiest reducers to work with
Devotion Feats - The interaction between the feats and domains in particular is what I like best.  They're basically Cleric Bonus Feats that in general beat the pants off Fighter Bonus Feats.  My favorites are Travel Devotion and Trickery Devotion.
Natural Spell - really should be a class feature
Linked Power - break the action economy into tiny pieces
Battle Blessing - The ranger and similar classes need something like this too imo.
Nymph's Kiss - Pretty much the best skill feat available.

Shifter Feats - Not because they are strong.  I like the flavor.  I don't even think Shifters would be overpowered if they got a bonus shifter feat every 3 or 4 levels.

Improved Control Shape (3.0 MM): Not because it's a great feat, far from it!  It actually purely makes those who take it worse off by forcing natural lycanthropes to make Control Shape checks to change form.  Oh, and only Natural lycanthropes can take the feat!

For actually useful feats?  Up the Walls (XPH).  Stand on ceilings at level 1!

I know there are a lot of very powerful feats, but i just love:

Quick Recon: Benefit: You can make one Spot check and one Listen check each round as a free action! Big Grin
You also gain a +2 bonus on initiative checks.

Combine with Dex bonus, Improved Initiative and. .

Insightful Divination:
Benefit: When you cast a divination spell, you gain an insight bonus equal to the spell's level + 1 on initiative checks and an equal insight bonus on the first save you make within the next 24 hours.

For an intimidating amount of "go first". Love

+2+3+4+1+5=+15 Initiative with free action listen/spot. Certainly not op, but not bad for a start. Probably try to add scent, though i don't think that's a feat.

If it weren't such a pain because of prerequisite maneuvers, I'd say Martial Study (Sudden Leap) into Martial Stance (Hunters Sense) to grab scent.

I like:

Imperious Command, DoTU
Master of Poisons, DoTU
Dreadful Wrath, PGtF
Law Devotion, CC
Cloudy Conjuration, CM
Fey Heritage/Presence/Legacy, CM
Minor Shapeshift, CM
Summon Elemental, CM
Residual Magic, CM

I'll stop there, but I'm kind of surprised at how many CM feats I really like.

In my humble opinion, CO is haberdashery. Some say we're mad, but we can all agree we're hatters. Yes, we have potential to make very sophisticated hats, very fancy hats, be they dark or light. But the truth is that the color of the hat does not come from the group of us - our community doesn't directly produce hats. We simply give average head circumferences, list current fashion trends, and point out some shiny, obscure baubles to add to the latest hat line.

My choice is simple - Leadership.

Optimizing is the antithesis of roleplaying because it takes focus away from the important parts of the game.
I'm inclined to disagree. People work hard on there characters, there personality, back ground, appearance, so forth. No one wants there character that they have invested time, energy, thought, and probably emotion in to be killed because they didn't take strong enough feats or skills or spells or what have you.
