Encounter 12 v2Setup:You are heading to an old, abandoned cemetery to check out rumors of walking dead. As you approach, you see the cemetery is in poor repair, and you see several lumbering figures scattered among the tomb stones. Their eyes fixate on you... Note: You are at full HP and spell slots.
Grave Stones: You can move through squares with grave stones at no movement penalty, although you cannot run or charge through them (although you could Jump over them as part of a charge). You can occupy a square with a grave stone. Doing so gives you a +2 Cover bonus to AC and a +1 Cover bonus to Reflex saves.Spot checks:Initiative rolls:Modified Initiative:MapRound 1!Ixen! You're up!

My balancing 3.5 compendiumElemental mage test gameQuotesIt is a shame stupidity isn't painful. Totally true. Historians believe that most past civilizations would have endured for centuries longer if they had successfully determined Batman's alignment. Why are so many posts on the board the equivalent of " Dear Dr. Crotch, I keep punching myself in the crotch, and my groin hurts... what should I do? How can I make my groin stop hurting?" I suggest carving "Don't be a dick" into him with a knife. A dull, rusty knife. A dull, rusty, bent, flaming knife. Fluffy: It's over Steve! I've got the high ground! Steve: You underestimate my power! Fluffy: Don't try it, Steve! Steve: *charges* Fluffy: *three critical strikes* Steve: **** I don't even stat out commoners. Commoner = corpse that just isn't a zombie. Yet. When I think "Old Testament Boots of Peace" I think of a paladin curb-stomping an orc and screaming "Your death brings peace to this land!" Buy a small country. Or Pelor. Both are good investments.

Grizz moves to N32 and readies an action to use Foehammer on any creature that gets within reach, besides any AoO's.

The zombies move with surprising speed, and are even capable or running! They still have the normal, awkward gait of zombies you've seen in the past, albeit with more speed. Their eyes show no signs of intelligence.
Zombie 2 charges Ixen and attempts to bite him, moving to T 35 -> d20 + 5 = 21, and hits for -> 1d6 + 2 = 6 damage!
Zombie 5 double moves to S 32.
Zombie 1 moves straight to attack Grizz. At it exits N 30, Grizz makes an AoO -> d20 + 4 = 8, and misses. (this is assuming Stone Power for -4. Grizz gains 8 temp HP!) The zombie closes in on Grizz (ending in N 31) and bites -> 1d20 + 3 = 9, and misses.
Grizz then takes his readied attack -> d20 + 4 = 11, and misses.
A ghoul pops up from behind a grave stone at AA 25 and moves into the square with a grave stone at X 28.
Zombie 3 double moves toward Grizz. As it leaves P 21, Grizz makes another AoO -> d20 + 4 = 13, and misses. Grizz gains 8 more temp HP! (if they stack. I don't have ToB handy right now.) The zombie finishes its movement at O 32
Zombie 4 double moves toward Grizz. As it leaves M 30, Grizz makes another AoO -> d20 + 4 = 15, and hits for -> 2d4 + 5 = 11 damage! Grizz gains 8 more temp HP! (again, assuming they stack) The zombie finishes it's movement at M 31.
Ixen! You're up!

The zombie takes it's AoO -> d20 + 3 = 17, and hits for -> 1d6 + 2 = 8 damage!
The zombies attempt to dodge Ixen's fire: 1 -> d20 = 18, and takes half damage. 4 -> d20 = 10, and takes full damage.
Serias! You're up!

Fire Lesser Orb of Acid at 2, move to O 38 Acid Orb (1d20+6=14, 2d8=13)Not sure if I'm taking AoOs from where I'm standing, I THINK I'm clear.

Oh. You don't have to take the -4 penalty for all your attacks for the round like you do with Power Attack. Let me redo the numbers, then: Grizz's readied attack hits -> 2d4 + 2d6 + 5 = 23, and zombie 1 goes down! Grizz's AoO hits on zombie 3 -> 2d4 + 5 = 13 damage! Other than that, it looks like you didn't take any damage, anyway. I think everything is up to speed. Only zombie one dropped from all of this, but zombie 3 looks pretty rough!
Serais' orb connects solidly, burning the zombie. After serias, a second ghoul pops up from behind a grave stone at L 20 and double-moves to the gravestone at L 27. Round 2!Modified Initiative:MapAepa! You're up!

The bolt bounces off of the grave stone between you and the ghoul. The ghoul grins with its orange eyes and sickly wide smile.
Zombie 2 charges Ixen (ending in O 35) -> d20 + 5 = 9, and misses.
Zombie 5 moves to O 31 to attack Grizz, and as it leaves P 31, Grizz takes an AoO -> d20 + 4 = 14, and hits for -> 2d4 + 5 = 13 damage! Grizz gains 8 temp HP! The zombie is still standing, but has a sizable gash in it. The zombie then attacks Grizz -> d20 + 3 = 23 (confirm -> d20 + 3 = 5), and hits for 1d6 + 2 = 4 damage!
(So far as I can tell, this is his last AoO for the round. I used Stone Power, because I think the temp HP disappear at the start of his round, so last round's should be gone now, even though these only last for the one zombie attack. Does this sound right?)
Grizz! You're up!

Grizz takes a 5-ft step to N33, and attacks Zombie 5 using Stone Bones (and Stone Power). 1d20(17)+4=21 2d4(2,4)+5= 11 damage, Grizz temporarily gains DR 5/adamantine for 1 round, and 8 thp until the start of his next turn. Grizz also makes sure he is in Iron Guard's Glare stance.

I meant that you took three between your two actions. Zombie 5 drops! Ghoul 2 double-moves to R 37. Zombie 3 attacks Grizz -> d20 + 3 = 20, and hits for -> 1d6 + 2 = 7 damage! Ixen! You're up!
