I've been doing some work on rules for a new setting/campaign.  One of the features of the world is a lack of prepared spellcasting.  So no druid or cleric, just favored soul.  No wizard, just sorceror, beguiler, warmage, etc.  My problem lies with the divine 'half casters' of ranger and paladin.  They provide some interesting archetypes I want to keep, and (depending on ACF) some now unique class features (wildshape and turn undead).  How much of a power boost would it be to give these two classes warmage style casting?  Other than prepared casters, pretty much all of 3.5 is fair game, so assume binders, psionics, incarnum, etc are in play.

Warmage style casting as in knowing their entire spell list (as now), but also being able to spontaneously cast it? It would be a welcome boost, but I doubt it would be significant barring dramatically expanded spell lists (like Sword of the Arcane Order). Ranger and Paladin spellcasting is sufficiently far behind everyone else that it never gets threatening. Adding spontaneous casting to it should be just fine.
