I'm mainly looking for idea's on how to better use the spell but could be an interesting thread regardless
The best thing i have pulled off so far with my beguiler was a combo with glibness and managed to sneak cast images of growths all over a drow matron, while bluffing her into believing i am the Underdarks greatest healer. That gave me sole access to her as her new personal healer which i then used as an oppurtunity to assassinate her thus bringing down their house.

Porn.
+1. +2 for shared porn. Fog. Its realistically possible, provides cover past 5 feet and best of all, its quite hard to 'interact' with, so some GMs wont give opponents a save against it. Oh no, wait i tell a lie, best of all your part members know its an illusion, so if they save against it, they have visibilty and the opponents don't. I love illusion fog

Go stand on a mountain, Silent Image some mountain looking stuff in front of the cave you are in. Have the party shoot out of the mountain and enjoy your total concealment from your enemies until they come up to interact (re:touch) the stone covering your cave.

Sha'ir HandbookBinder HandbookQuote from: Negative Zero on November 04, 2009, 02:16:14 AM In my humble opinion, CO is haberdashery. Some say we're mad, but we can all agree we're hatters. Yes, we have potential to make very sophisticated hats, very fancy hats, be they dark or light. But the truth is that the color of the hat does not come from the group of us - our community doesn't directly produce hats. We simply give average head circumferences, list current fashion trends, and point out some shiny, obscure baubles to add to the latest hat line.

Silent image of a smooth floor section a millimeter above a carefully concealed floor trap. To spot it, they need someone with a true seeing AND enough search ranks to see the actual trap(by the time they interact with the illusion, it's too late). Good way to mess with rogues (just make sure the trap targets Fort).

Silent Image (and its cousins, Minor and Major) have MASSIVE areas, which I think is overlooked by a lot of people. You can create ridiculously huge illusions with it. Create an image of the Tarrasque in front of your enemies, watch them run for their fucking lives.

An illusion of an object over the spaces you're in.
Invisibility as a 1st level spell.
Also, porn.

I personally like the idea of putting an illusion of a pit trap in a tight corridor... and then building an actual pit trap right behind that and covering it with an illusion of regular floor.
And porn, of course.

I'm a big fan of an image of a closed door in front of an open door, imaginary flank buddies, fake bridges over cliffs (OK, I've only ever pulled this off once, but combined with a Fly speed and some good acting, it made for a very funny encounter), terrain hazards where none exist, and lots of dead bodies.

Nobody ever said you could see through an illusion created by silent image, so making a save wouldn't help. It'd let you know it IS an illusion, though.
So now it's time to create some magical inky blackness. Especially good if you've got tremorsense or something.

My favorite is surrounding landbound enemies with the illusion of deep spike-filled pits too large for them to jump over. Why would they interact with that? Invisibility as a 1st level spell.
You can't make the an image of invisibility. Besides, it wouldn't move wih you. Everyone seems to forget that Silent Image cannot move!

The answer to everything: SneeR I don't know if the designers meant you to take Skill Focus for every feat. Sounds a little OP.
The monk is clearly the best class, no need to optimize here. What you are doing is overkill.
It's like people who have no idea what a turn signal is. They ruin it for everyone else.
When another driver brandishes a holy symbol and begins glowing with divine light, seek cover or get spattered with zombie brains. I do not see what is so complicated about this.

Sure it can - it just has to move within its area of effect: You can move the image within the limits of the size of the effect.

If you save against a figment or a phantasm, you see them as translucent outlines You know, with as often as I've looked that up, I'd never seen that part? I saw it in the SRD just now, though. My favorite is surrounding landbound enemies with the illusion of deep spike-filled pits too large for them to jump over. Why would they interact with that? They could prod it with their 11' poles? Especially if they knew there wasn't supposed to be a pit there in the first place. Invisibility as a 1st level spell.
You can't make the an image of invisibility. Besides, it wouldn't move wih you. Everyone seems to forget that Silent Image cannot move! It's effectively a somewhat more limited mass invisibility. You make an image taking up your space, and they can't see you, just the image. It's definitely good for full concealment.
