I am designing an awesome CR 10-11 or so monster, a truly epic boss battle. It is a Colossal Construct with very powerful attacks, but essentially gets the zombie's Single Action Only (Ex) ability to make up for it.

This creature has Magic Immunity (Ex) from golems (so any spell with SR auto-fails), isn't mindless (INT4, so 1 skill points per level and feats), has 51d10 HD +80 hp for being a colossal construct (as well as poison, paralysis, and a bunch other immunities), and would preferably not have any spell-like abilities, though one or two that operate behind the scenes are not out of the question.

With those stipulations, how do I stop this mighty behemoth from being felled by the lowly Shivering Touch, bane of creatures with DEX 6? For that matter, how do I prevent it from being one-shotted in general?

I was thinking letting it be under a permanent globe of invulnerabilty, but even that only takes an extra action to dispel before a mage can one-shot it at Level 11 with Greater Dispel Magic or Heightened Dispel Magic.

EDIT:

Wow, I cannot believe I missed that constructs are immune to ability damage. Oops. Are there any ways to take this thing down that I am overlooking? I'd hate for the mage to cast a single spell and end an otherwise fantastic boss battle.

He also has Engery Resistance 25 to all elements, DR 30/+5 and adamantine, 80 ft speed, its attack hits multiple squares, at least 4, and has more than 60 ft reach. I am considering not allowing it attacks of opportunity because of this.

I don't know if the designers meant you to take Skill Focus for every feat.
Sounds a little OP.

The monk is clearly the best class, no need to optimize here. What you are doing is overkill.

It's like people who have no idea what a turn signal is. They ruin it for everyone else.
When another driver brandishes a holy symbol and begins glowing with divine light, seek cover or get spattered with zombie brains. I do not see what is so complicated about this.

And even if constructs weren't immune to ability damage, the Magic Immunity ability makes it immune to that specific spell.

Wow, can't believe I missed that. So is this guy pretty much immune to magic?

What might take him down?

Any spell that doesn't allow SR and eats up this guy's only action? Orb of Fire (SpC) is one of them... No SR and will save or Dazed for 1 round...

Tumble dc 15. No AoO and he now has to move before he can hit you. Proceed to pelt it with rocks like a 3rd world revolutionary until it stops working, or you know something actually effective vs it. Either way it won't be effective if the party can move and actually thinks rather than saying "me smash MegaZord".

Of course, if it has massive reach and attacks multiple squares instead of single creatures, that makes it a little better.  Maybe ggive it some minor laser eyebeams every round too.

The other check box, which TML already implicitly addressed: Does it have flight or at least ranged attacks? If not, that's what we around here like to call Tarrasque Syndrome. Of course, witht hat Dex score it's unlikely to hit worth shit.

As for Tumble, remember that zombies (and therefore probably MegaZord here) can charge as a standard action. So while that does deny it iteratives, it can still move and attack. Unless the party Wizard puts down an area of difficult terrain, of course.

Don't forget that with a Standard action it can still move and attack via Charging.

I am unfamiliar with that. Why would it threaten my construct? What new strengths does it present?

My guess would be due to Irresistible Mountain Strike, stone dragon strike that denies its victim a standard action. Plus stone dragon has lots of stuff to ignore DR and crusaders are like roaches, you just can't seem to kill them if they don't want you to.

Solid Fog would slow him down.

What's his speed?  Even without flight, it's likely that the PCs could just kite it.  And, of course, what 10th level PCs aren't able to fly?

Why waste Solid Fog when Grease does the job just fine (and with no SR)?

No reason to make it that easy on them. Just resist the urge to slap Combat Reflexes/Robilar's Gambit/etc on it.
