Okay, i wanted to make a goatman character, then i discovered that there is no goatman race that doesn't have level adjustment. Not only that, but there is no Goat animal in the PHB.

So I came up with an idea to homebrew one and get it approved by my DM.

Why do i want to make a goatman character?

Thats why. Specifically I want to make a monk or ninja. But the race can't just be built perfectly for ninja of course. Its gotta be built for that video and other videos of them climbing crazy stuff.

They don't climb that much, they jump a lot.

I'd ditch the bonuses to climb, and perhaps balance, to give it a bonus to tumble and perhaps a differently worded version of slow fall that has to do with making appropriate jump/tumble checks rather than just "you can fall farther". You can already make a fall 20 feet shorter by jumping off the top and tumbling at the bottom.

Also, since stuff like climb gets so nastily outclassed I don't see an issue with giving things +8 racial bonuses to the physical skills that don't see much use in combat (Climb/Swim) with the lines about "can always take a 10." Tumble is pretty handy in combat and jump has a place on certain builds, but you can put lines like "can take a 10 to do a trick etc." like they did on a few of the races in Stormwrack (They are a lot better at swimming when they're just swimming, not when they NEED to swim). In fact the stuff in Stormwrack might be a pretty good precedent for you only use Jump instead.

I don't employ memes. Mass-produced ammunition, even from reputable manufacturers, tends to malfunction on occasion.

In 3.5 walking on tiny foot holds in a nearly vertical wall is a climb/balance check.

I'm gonna look at the monkey race in SW for a few more things.
