Fucking douchebags. This is still up, though. Let's just hope it stays "under the radar" for a while... Downloading it might be a good idea, if you care...

You should delete that before the mods do... Uploaded books are a no-no. Excerpts are OK, presumably in the name of "fair use". So crystalkeep was largely ignored.

i would say that i have very little respect for any of the Administrators or Executives @ WoTC for thier decisions..... why not simply let everyone use what they want, if WoTC does not want to support it... let us have what is left to enjoy

I think I see what happened there. Now a direct link JUST to the indexes, with our alternative to trying to pass things around the home network on USB sticks carefully privatised for greater legality Crystalkeep archived: http://www.mediafire.com/?gzmjj2wwfgy3ehr

"Just what do you think the moon up in the sky is? Everyone sees that big, round shiny thing and thinks there must be something round up there, right? That's just silly. The truth is much more awesome than that. You can almost never see the real Moon, and its appearance is death to humans. You can only see the Moon when it's reflected in things. And the things it reflects in, like water or glass, can all be broken, right? Since the moon you see in the sky is just being reflected in the heavens, if you tear open the heavens it's easy to break it~" -Ibuki Suika, on overkill

Even if you don't think you'll need it anytime soon, download what you can, you never know what you'll be needing in the future.

It shows just how much faith they have in the "upgrade" that 4E is supposed to be.

Have you given Fourth Edition a chance? I mean, really tried to play the game? Rather than just hate on it? Y'know, Fourth Edition really isn't all that bad.

Having played 4th it really is that bad... Not from a mechanical standpoint you understand, it is more that it completely lacks everything that prompted me to play 3.5. Things like monstrous races, inventive use of spells like illusions to defeat opponents etc. 4th plays perfectly fine if you want some bland hack and slash but when you want to do anything interesting it fails utterly.

Honestly, it's not all that bad. Crystalkeep was so incomplete and prone to errors that it was really only useful as a quick reference or for when you wanted to find out what book or Dragon mag something specific was in. The main impact of this is a) that WotC would really be so petty and b) that a gaming resource that has withstood deletion for years finally was put down just like that. After having gone on for so long it just... felt eternal.

4e is a fine game. It is not, however, the same type of game as 3.5. For those of us who really liked the type of game 3.5 was, 4e just doesn't cut the mustard. Yes, I tried playing it. I was bored. So was the rest of my gaming group. I know there are people who love it... good for them. But in the end, calling 4e a sequel of 3.5 is like calling checkers a sequel of chess.
Anyway, I just went and downloaded everything off that mirror site. Yay for having my own backups!

Yeah, I concur. 4E is an excellent tactical miniatures game. It is not by any stretch of the imagination an RPG.
