Peter stays in the shadows of the alley across the street, keeping an eye out for more of those zombie creatures.

A gygaxian dungeon is like the world's most messed up game show.
Behind door number one: INSTANT DEATH! Behind door number 2: A magic crown! Behind door number 3: 4d6 giant bees, and THREE HUNDRED POUNDS OF HONEY! They don't/haven't, was the point. 3.5 is as dead as people not liking nice tits.
Sometimes, their tits (3.5) get enhancements (houserules), but that doesn't mean people don't like nice tits.
Though sometimes, the surgeon (DM) botches them pretty bad...
Best metaphor I have seen in a long time. I give you much fu. Three Errata for the Mage-kings under the sky, Seven for the Barbarian-lords in their halls of stone, Nine for Mortal Monks doomed to die, One for the Wizard on his dark throne In the Land of Charop where the Shadows lie.

Harvdar seems to hang back a little bit, trying to keep pace with the slower moving of the group.

John and Klammeri will keep up with the group, on either side, at the speed of the group.

The longer legged of the group clear the street, making it to the alley. Without direction, they huddle near the intersection, watching for danger and glancing towards the fighters. The slower ones are still in the street, but they are hurrying as fast as they can. The screams from the distant building have completely faded at this point, but more can be heard from all around the city.

Peter attempts to scout ahead more, seeing his more combat capable companions holding the rear line, though he keeps an ear out for shouts of trouble from the rear. Move Silently and hide forward 30 feet: 1d20=7, 1d20=5. I love unmodified stealth rolls Edit:

Another road, smaller than the one you have already crossed, lies ahead. On the other side of it stands a single building. There is a large space to both the left and right of the building before there is another structure. Beyond the building you can see the large, stone wall of the city. As lightning arcs through the sky in the distance, the battlements are illuminated slightly, but not a single silhouette is there to be seen. Keeping his axe high, Harvdar stays in his place as rear guard. The rain has started coming down hard enough to obscure vision, causing the figures who were at the door to slip from view.

Fighter: "I can kill a guy in one turn." Cleric: "I can kill a guy in half a turn." Wizard: "I can kill a guy before my turn." Bard: "I can get three idiots to kill guys for me." On a strange note, would anyone be put out if we had a post about people or events we can spare a thought for, or if its within their creed, a prayer for? Just a random thought, but ... hells I wouldn't have known about either Archangels daughter or Saeomons niece if I didn't happen to be on these threads.
Sounds fine to me. probably over on "Off-topic". might want to put a little disclaimer in the first post. This is the Min/Max board. We should be able to figure out a way to optimize the POWER OF PRAYER(TM) that doesn't involve "Pazuzu, Pazuzu, Pazuzu". My final project for my film independent study course. It could do with a watching and critiquing

John moves up past the slower moving non-combatants, stopping at the southern corner of the entrance to the allyway.

Klammeri keeps close to the group on the northern flank, trying to place himself equidistant to all the common folk. He faces out and away from the group.

The rest of the merchant group hustles into the allyway, huttling at the intersection. There is motion coming from the building with the screams, but the rain is obscuring details. No movement is visable from behind the bar.

Peter continues moving, trying to keep an eye out not only for more zombie-things, but also for a section of the town where they could move onto the roofs and traverse the city via rooftop for a bit, since it would likely mean less chance of being boxed in by roving packs of zombies.

With Peter's new position he is able to barely see a small tower connected to the wall to the south, along with a large number of faint silhouettes. Harvdar makes his way into the alleyway, stopping beside Eldon, "W'ere ‘as t'at fire breat'ing fellow gotten off to?"
