Anyone who has a copy of Dragon #297 should look at this Prestige Class right away.

Has a 6/10 caster level progression. Rubbish, right? I agree, but look at the capstone. A Su ability to mimic any spell of 9th level or lower, once per day.

Can we increase the number of times he can do this? At all?

Mimic the spell as a SpA, not as Su. that's worth noting.  You could combine it with any fast progression PrC to still get 9s. It makes a great cohort because of it's once a day trick pony-ness. More times per day? Action points. 10 levels of Soul Eater.

You can only have that "use it again" ability used on you 1/day, iirc.

Unfettered Heroism? Even non-persisted you can give your whole party +5 inherents in less than a week, then switch it up for Gate spam.

Stick it onto a mistling fey (eberron: forge of war).  Now you have a living spell of that SLA that lasts 8 hours and obeys you completely.
