Yes... if you want to see a pretty awesome visual of how this happens, play WC3 and just march 4-or-so necromancers + a level 6 Dreadlord + a full meat meat wagon or two up to an enemy base, unload the meat wagons, and just march everything into the base.  Even as they die, the skeletons will be constantly replaced by the necromancers and eventually the horde of skeletons will just swarm the base.  Inferno adds a nice, big demon w/ AoE damage to the mix, and life-stealing aura keeps the skeletons relatively healthy.  Sleep and Cripple make for nice CC.  Unholy Frenzy is a very nice buff if you bring along some Abominations.

Of course, there was a patch at some point that capped the number of summonable skeletons to 25, making this far less awesome-looking.

HAHA, I don't have that patch! Now where is my copy... 'mutters to self'

I think if you have a b.net account and your CD key, you can download it straight from Blizzard.  Same with WC 2, Starcraft, Brood War, and Diablo II.  I think the only PC game they don't do that with is the original Diablo.

On a strange note, would anyone be put out if we had a post about people or events we can spare a thought for, or if its within their creed, a prayer for? Just a random thought, but ... hells I wouldn't have known about either Archangels daughter or Saeomons niece if I didn't happen to be on these threads.
Sounds fine to me.
probably over on "Off-topic".
might want to put a little disclaimer in the first post.

This is the Min/Max board. We should be able to figure out a way to optimize the POWER OF PRAYER(TM) that doesn't involve "Pazuzu, Pazuzu, Pazuzu".

My final project for my film independent study course. It could do with a watching and critiquing

Ju-ju zombies... from the unapproachable east right? I can't rember that like at all.

Yep.  Very few people seem to remember them or use them.  I've never been quite sure of why.

My experience actually playing one is that as soon as I raised a single monster, my DM started making up reasons why I couldn't raise anything else.  The big monkey demon we fought was called into a large cavern... but the ways out were so small that I couldn't even get the bones out for later raising.  Onyxs were strangely hard to find.  The Sorceress we slew turned out to have been summoned (very long term, somehow) causing her to disappear when killed.  Other monsters were Elementals, which for some reason meant they couldn't be raised.

It was really annoying.

Usually, when a DM starts pulling stuff like that, I stop playing and say, "Look, if you don't want me to play this character, just say so and I'll make a new one."

A gygaxian dungeon is like the world's most messed up game show.

Behind door number one: INSTANT DEATH!
Behind door number 2: A magic crown!
Behind door number 3: 4d6 giant bees, and THREE HUNDRED POUNDS OF HONEY!
They don't/haven't, was the point. 3.5 is as dead as people not liking nice tits.

Sometimes, their tits (3.5) get enhancements (houserules), but that doesn't mean people don't like nice tits.

Though sometimes, the surgeon (DM) botches them pretty bad...
Best metaphor I have seen in a long time.  I give you much fu.
Three Errata for the Mage-kings under the sky,
Seven for the Barbarian-lords in their halls of stone,
Nine for Mortal Monks doomed to die,
One for the Wizard on his dark throne
In the Land of Charop where the Shadows lie.

It was great and it underlined for me the power of the wizard class. I went in a dungeon and had bought a scroll of animate dead. I was a generalist wizard. Though it may have been the elven generalist ...
The dungeon was for a party of 4 starting at 4th level. . . roughly, I went in the first room:
Cast glitterdust in the suprise round,  sleep in round 2, summon undead in round 3. *to occupy the non sleep monster* coup-de-grace'd the sleeping critter and used my scroll of animate dead on it.
These 2 monsters were Blackscale lizard folk. Large size back of hp after animation.
I went through the rest of the dungeon with pretty much a perfect as I'd send my minion in first and if there was sign of bs I'd summon some more and send them in too.
Not to mention I had invisibility and could actually coupdegrace w/acid space as a raise undead lite in a pinch.
I subsequently got a named ogre who I killed and he had a large +1  hammer and an extra hit die or so...
Started at level 4 advanced to level 6... ended up being a really interesting character as well, I felt anyway.
I never had more than 1 elite brute at a time though, I would assuredly summone whatever I needed to help him all in all really fun xp

I would have added "Stop insulting my intelligence" at the front of it, but yeah.

The best thing that ever happened to me was a custom made amulet my DM gave me that allowed me to summon a total of 10HD of undead. anything i wanted too. I used it to summon atropal scions and abyssal drakes mostly... I wasnt half as good then but I used the Libris mortis rules for summon undead so I had some huge dragon zombies at my side. quite the artilery platform. Now I use this trick. I create bloodhulks as soon as I get animate dead and awaken them (with scrolls of course). I get extremly good brutes with good feats this way.... Im not much for skeletons since they seem quite frail. So when I get lessser planar binding I make zombies (and subsequently awaken them) from canoloths (MM3) and gulthirs (MM 5 I think). Its a wicked seek combo. as for small to large zombies and skeletons and ghouls\ghasts I have taken to rounding them up in ,mobs. Easier on the paperwork
Also best options at all levels are an awakend zombie Jarilith and a Corpse (or better yet If you play by FR and can aford it) a Silveraith Kokrachon (BoVD)
As for templates I prefer the evolved undead template because both the spell-stiched and swarm-shifter templates have LA:- so are in danger of inviting the DM's ban hammer
