Alenatorion looked at the dragonborn, his hands inadvertently becoming fists, and his facial expression changed to something a mother would give to her child if they were doing something they shouldn't, but she couldn't act out because of her surroundings.

"Yeah, that last one? Please don't do that. I'd really appreciate it."

Huh, okay, I can turn into something that's not draconic then. It's just that I know a great deal about dragons, so choosing one of those forms would be simplest. I would need to think of a form that can carry as many of you as needed though, but if it's only Mr. Stoneshield I can make do with a Roc or an Air Elemental. Alkazar looks very confused. At him not liking dragons.

Pardon me, but why the dislike for dragons? You are a dragon yourself? I don't understand.

Alenatorion looked at the dragonborn, and sighed, relaxing a little.

Look, I don't mean to be on edge about this, but maybe you didn't figure out one of the roars that had been coming our way, or you didn't hear me when I was talking to the others. There's already a dragon out there. If we get caught up in a fight, I don't want to have to distinguish who's friend and who's foe. I don't know what kind of dragon it is, but I'd rather not risk you and it being the same type, and end up fighting it by yourself. That's all.

Well, I'll turn into a Half-Seven different types of dragons, Ghost Dragon, and add some Celestial and fiendish to the mix then. You probably will have an easy time distinguishing me then. Anyway air elemental is faster if I only need to transport 3 of you, so as to not offend anyone I'll not turn into a dragon.

@ Sohala
Add "or demon cat", "Death", and "hydra - negotiate for higher payout" to the list I gave you. They're all sought after, and crossed off. They should have been under "jungle cat".

The group leaves the mansion after gathering everything they feel they could need for the trip. Roryn takes the lead, and escorts everyone through the gate, and towards the edge of the cliff that faces towards the fast forest that seems to span on forever. Looking down, the cliff seems to climb 80 feet up in the air before plateauing. The forest is a good 30-40 feet from the cliff-face, and probably no more than 65 feet in height.

A staircase has been carved into the cliff, and leads downwards to the West for 20 feet before stopping. An attached staircase then leads downwards to the East for 20 feet. This pattern continues a second time before it finally reaches the bottom. At the base looks to be a destroyed shed that had been built into a large boulder. It could have been something else, but that's the idea that immediately comes to head. Some kind of storage area.

In the near distance, the occasional roar could be heard. It seems to have gotten quieter since the last time everyone listened in on the wild. You're hoping that it's because they're going to sleep, or that they're too caught up in a meal.

Spot check 25
With the exception of Melkior, unless he's told everyone, you're all surprised to see a few blips of light randomly appearing all throughout the forest. It's almost like someone's casting daylight for a few seconds before it goes out. After about five or six, it stops completely.

Listen check 30 (if you made the Spot check)
You notice that with each blip of light that appears, the growing quietness is becoming more apparent.

The light being off from the sun is lessening. Sunset is upon this dimension. Anyone with low-light would have no problem, but anyone else might start to realize the handicap they soon be facing once night falls.

Roryn looks at the group and gestures towards the stone staircase. "Had we been walking, we'd be taking the moving stairs down. However, since we're not, let's get to my comrades and clients without haste. I'd like to believe that they're all still alive. My faith in Moradin compels to me to do so. All we have to do is head towards the tower. It's due South. I don't think I have to remind anyone to be on their guard. There are a few creatures that can fly as well. Usually we have measures to prevent such things, but likely that won't be the case anymore. If we're lucky, those creatures from last night can't fly. I didn't see anything that would show it to be possible."

I am assuming the conversation and decision took long enough to complete my work, but not long enough for me to join in the library.

Recast greater mage armor, endure element and superiour resistance, sharing all with bear.

Make the spot and listen without rolling... Smile

A noise outside the entry way side door snapped the druid out of his thoughts. As he listened he realized it was only those he tentatively called allies, and the dwarf.

He moved to the hallway door, waiting for the last of the sound to pass beyond it, before exiting. Taking a moment, he glanced into the trophy room to see if the dwarf had made it out alive and then made to follow, mildly curious on what the others had extracted from the dwarf, without killing him.

As the druid went, he made some minor motions with his hands.

(follow group to edge)

Finding the group looking off across the forest from the cliff, the druid made his way to the side of Drexs, but said not a word.

That would be a good assumption, yes.

Noted.

We should probably investigate that boat that sailed across the sea to the southeast.

The dwarf looks up at the human, confused for a moment before coming up with a possible solution. "You saw a boat? I don't remember having there being a boat anywhere on this island. That must have been Calathra's new purchase. She said she was going to try and find something to make the lake section easier to hunt."

The concordant killer spread its wings, and got ready to take off. "I'm alright with that. Every little bit helps in this investigation. Maybe we'll find a survivor adrift in the water who can tell me Jaccob's current location."

Hop up says Alkazar as he is about to lift off, Melkior is already flying in a 45 degree lift to the south east.

The dwarf looks at the mage, now transformed into an air elemental, and climbs on. "I've done a lot of things in my time, but never rode an air elemental before. First time for everything, I suppose."

The concordant killer recasts his at-will mage armor and shield, then uses a charge from his wand to cast Greater Magic Weapon on his greatsword. Prepared for what may come, he lifts off, following Melkior. He's got a good fly speed, but nothing as perfect as the others seem to have.

"I have to admit, I've never met a cleric who could out fly me before. I can already tell that being with you guys is going to be interesting."

Assuming a direction was pointed out...

Cast Wind Walk on self and bear. Blast ahead of the group, 600ft/round movement.

As everyone prepared to leave, the druid made a few gestures, after which he and the bear took on a vapor like appearance. A moment later a large gust of wind blows by the group and both are gone.

Desirae follows the druid's lead, and also casts Wind Walk on herself and Rezzik.

The large Alenatorion leaps from the cliff's edge, his draconic wings spread. His flight is much slower than everyone else's, but he does his best to keep up.

Spot DC 40 (everyone who didn't fly away at 600 ft per second)
As you're flying over the forest, something through a small space between the trees reflects the setting sun and gives off a sparkling gleam. Almost like a mirrored or polished finish.

Raptor moves at what seems to be a leisurely pace compared to the others.
