Just want to let you guys know that, despite the fact that I want to get this rolling and end this playtest before the actual game starts, I'm not going to be in much of a gaming mood today or tomorrow. Just learned that a friend and co-worker passed away yesterday.

I'm sorry to hear that. It's always difficult to handle such sad news. My best wishes to you and your friend's family.

Thanks. It hit us all pretty hard. He was one of those guys that you couldn't help but love. He did what he could for you, and you really respected him for it.

Letting you guys know now that there will be no gaming on the 17th (funeral), and no gaming from the 28th to the 30th (I'll be in the hospital).

I'm likely out of town most of next week, surprise surgery for my little girl. So lack of gaming isn't an issue for me right now. Sorry to hear about your friend Kevin.

No, that's just when I'm scheduled to be in there, and they figure at least 1-2 days of recovery.

I'll either be on a lot this week or not at all. I'm going to be out of town most of the week for my little girl to have a relatively minor surgery.

By the way, Kevin, what program did your friend use to stat out the map?

The thing looks awesome in a simple way, and since I was considering running an 8-bit style campaign for my gaming group, it would be just right.

Actually I designed the map. She just did all the copying and pasting for me. The map is actually the original FFI map from the old NES. I just Googled it, and she used Photoshop to manipulate everything to how I needed it to go. And if you guys end up finding it, I'll be showing you a different version of the map that she did with a completely different program. It actually makes it look like a real map (ie like a treasure map style). It's either called the Sepia style or saturated style. I can't remember.

Just in case people are having troubles finding the initiative. I coloured some, and not others, because I'm lazy.

some suggestions for combat that have helped in other PbP games I'm in: Announce the beginning of each round of combat in the thread, it helps a lot with keeping up with everything, Post the Init list for each combat at the beginning of the combat, let people know who is up next after each player's turn (unless it is a bad guy then just give us what we see them doing and tell the next person to go).

Ok, since he attacked Melkior, Remember that DC 27 Will save or be stunned for a round (24 hours if you read persistent spell that way, but I hope you don't).

And I should really get superior resistance on him, his Reflex saves suck.

Also, shouldn't the cloudkill move out of the room? Seeping through the doors and windows or are they air-tight? It does move 20ft/round.

This is were I assumed Alkazar would move to:

A question since it will be my turn soon....
Will alenatorion be able to fly up to watch from up high or is there something blocking him?
